Last time the Rangers had an MRM outing, we confirmed that going passive turns off the narc/tag issue.  Can't remember what version that was though.

I'm with Alfalfa Cat and Square Sphere.  It's entirely possible to fire mrms over a hill or around a corner and drag the missiles into your target, though I will only do this with small MRM launchers (10-20).  The larger salvos are strung out enough that many of your missiles will not have cleared the hill/wall when you begin guiding the missiles and will slam into said hill/wall, and these launchers go through ammo too quickly to be messing around imo.  The mrm 10-20 salvos are compact enough that if you have a good bead on your target you can expect around half to hit, which is fine by me as the smaller launchers have enough ammo play with.  As Square Sphere stated you just have to know what a good shot looks like before you fire.

The other MRM tactic I highly recommend, and I do this all the time, (especially on Sandblasted) is to fire you mrms at the crest of a hill when you know an enemy is coming over to fight you.  Just make sure you have him targeted and watch his target box walk up the other side of the hill.  With little practice timing it right isn't a problem and the missiles will start hitting just as he crests the hill.  It will give him a nice surprise as evidenced by watching the alpha strike he's got lined up on you go flying off into the wind.   8)

What I like to do when trick-shooting (e.g. with the thanny P), is fire the mrm's over the ridge, then jump and guide them into the previously covered enemy. then give him a lick with my lasers. works pretty well if you practice the timing.

Well I doubt it was changed, more likely I was running Active then.

Strangely I never have trouble with my Raven Es MRMs, and I run active with that machine 100% of the time (and during late game joins with Narcs popping up all over).  TBH I have about 100 times the experience with the Ravens MRM(20s?) and the Atlas As MRMs (10s?) than I do with the larger launchers which I rarely use.

@Blasto, the "Hello!" salvo of MRMs is a favourite with me too, nothing like an enemy taking a smack to the face just as he rounds a corner/obstacle or otherwise breaks cover  8)

Anyone else noticed the larger MRM volleys are inconsistent in their flight patterns.

Sometimes you get the classic solid wall pattern which just sprays damage everywhere and sometimes you get a far more effective clump pattern which rapes fat torsos. Both times firing without NARC / TAG interference and with cursor on target to keep the convergence setting constant.
