It's been said before, gaming is all about the money now. And the money is on the consoles, specifically the lowest common denominator type games like your cookie-cutter FPS, and whatever else appeals to the 14-16 year olds. I've said it before and I'll say it again, kiddies would look at ANY Mechwarrior game (or most other semi-complicated PC titles for that matter) and cry, you actually have to be good at the game to do well, not some quick-scoping 'tard who makes crude jokes. And IMO as long as that factor is in play, you'll see simplistic games tailored to the demographic that will rake in the cash, which sadly leaves us PC gamers in the cold.
