MechWarrior: Living Legends 0.5.4 Playtest Impressions
« on: December 11, 2011, 11:12:35 PM »
I had originally planned to release a teaser of an in-progress feature today but I got distracted by something shiny and ended up with this selection of playtest screenshots instead.

Anyone else notice the x1 and x4 on the map in the last picture?

And the map looks great! I'm very much looking forward to fighting on it.

Looks like it. Also, is that an Epona rolling with an UAC-20? :P

Wow. I'm going to get killed a LOT on that map because I'm going to be busy ogling the scenery. Whoever's doing the environmentals is getting damned good at it. Wonderfully moody and atmospheric. A distant curtain of heavenly lights laying over a place of cold, shallow graves like a funeral shroud, silently marking the passing of brave warriors who stalk the battlefield astride monsters with the power of the gods, whose birthright is the cleansing, inescapable annihilation of nuclear fire, each perhaps hoping that they will be the last of their kind, standing alone in their great and icy tomb to admire its beauty, knowledge that never again will another need take up their mantle and their awesome destructive power bringing them comfort in the cold... but war never changes, and as each of these final survivors turns his eyes heavenward in search of peace, all he finds is the pillars of atomic flame, like the wings of Valkyries heralding the next great battle to come, piercing the shroud as the next wave arrives...
If you get killed, try to scream a lot. That way I'll know I'm on my own.

A Note:
There's a difference between constructive feedback and positive feedback. I will attempt the former, but until and unless there is a rule instituted that requires all feedback to be positive, I'm under no obligation to be nice. If you do something that sucks, I will tell you it sucks, and why, and mincing words or stroking egos over it only slows us both down.

Epona raids here i come!

According to Sarna the Epona prime has 4 CMPL and 1 csrm-4 which is a perfect loadout for my tastes.
I almost feel sorry for the enemy team when i get my team organized into some Epona prime piranha swarm raids.

I have to wonder if the Epona will have the same weakness vs ACs that lighter hovercraft have. If so, that piranha swarm has a hard counter...
