It would be kinda funny if, after you reach a certain rank, your money starts slowly decreasing down to the starting cash allotment for that rank. Higher ranks or score = faster decrease rate. So if you wind up with 250,000 cbills from heavy combat, you start rapidly losing money, forcing you to either stay in the fight until you die or run home and spend it as fast as you can :P

(This would probably be horrible in reality)

There have been many attempts. But as far as I remember none was accepted. Mostly because they were either not working or they would make life for new guys even harder.
We would need an idea, which solves problems without making the game undesireable for newbs.

If this is the case them we should have gamemode specific Cbill systems. For TSA, we can keep the current one, but for terrain control we really need something that makes more physical sense. A constant trickle of income that goes up based on damage done would be my best suggestion.

The main problem with this is what happens if you run out of money by dying multiple times in a short period. Because both teams would be subject to the same rules, (and servers would allow transfers more often thanks to this system being unexploitable) it would be simple for teamates to give you enough to get up and running and there would be a minimum salary preventing people from people ever being forced to stick with lower gear. if you happen to be in a situation where you dont have the money, which could be solved by simply waiting a little bit, then just run out as a BA.

Will the limp speed be upgraded for this? Right now the limp is so slow you might as well not be moving at all. Even catastrophic engine damage only gets you a -50%, the limp gets you like -99.9% speed.

Also, if this is going to be for legs only (for now)... and it can't be repaired? This sounds like it would do for mechs what the turret and hull is for tanks - just a bigger reason to shoot it and only it above anything else. You can beat up and break off side torsos of a good mech player, but if he can't repair his leg armor, you're better off shooting his legs exclusively forcing him to buy a new mech.

Regardless of your stance on legs, I don't think we need more reasons to shoot them.

You can repair your leg armor. You cannot repair the internal structure of the leg.
