VTOLs on Thunderrift
« on: December 17, 2011, 08:23:46 PM »
I was wondering what it would be like to fly a VTOL on this map. The low ceilling would prevent any vtrolling while the many mountains provide ample cover for a decent pilot.
Their agility could be easily used to attack from much unused flanks and add diversity to the gameplay.
Has this ever been tried in some alpha testing?

I'd like to try it, but I don't think it would be good to actually change the map to incorporate this.

The accidental death rate would be through the roof (but not literally)
"Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam"
If you take this seriously, you're some kind of mouth-breathing fappwit that shouldn't have survived infancy.

I swear to god it would be fun for EVERYONE, even people who hate air, because half the time VTOL pilots would smash into stalactites and explode.

Yalk should get on TS3 instead of offering his approval.

I could have sworn a Dev said they would add Vtols to TSA Thunder Rift and TSA Marshes.

Give me a Yellowjacket Prime and I'll show you how much of a bastard a VTOL in T-Rift can be.

Give me a yellowjacket II (hollander style) that can actually carry appreciable weapons and I'll worship the ground you walk on

I've been yammering on about how VTOLs and Aerospace should be available on every map, no matter how ridiculous.

I would love to fly Hawkmoths and Sparrowhawks on Trift, though I think the ceiling would need to have a more advanced collision mesh - you might end up flying through some rocks and hitting what looks like clear space.

Shit dude, the regular yellowjacket can carry an arrow launcher or a gauss rifle.  That's good enough for me.

When TC_TR was first announced and a preview pic was released, it had a helipad at the base. I SWEAR IT. It was the biggest let down when released. :(

I agree, if someone is that godly to pull it off, let them.

I concur, and they would be great for the good pilots, they would be the fastest things that could back cap, but still be able to bug out if needed.  Heck it would be no problem to kill in most cases.

Asf would be silly, yes you could use them, but they would be pretty useless.

doooooo it!! :)

I suck!! But WE are AWESOME.  We started a unit.  What's that?!  YOU WANNA TOUCH MY UNIT?!! :P ^^12thVR Recruitment Page(clickthepic) ;)

I bet I could land a SpHawk in the center base in T-Rift.
