Now this is a map I can get behind as a commander. Throw me on an interest-list. I'll also put my hat in for possible team Star Captain\Company Commander. My lackluster performance in whatever huge hilly\forested map we were in yesterday is making me want to redeem myself.

On a side note, we've (the 12th) had some success with start some matches around 0000-0100 EST (0500-0600 GMT?) as it allowed our pilots spread out around the world to attempt to make the drop.

Yes, it doesn't matter whether you are in a unit or not, anyone can play.

Well, I'm going to have a closer look at some of those community-TC-maps then, maybe I can get a rough idea of performance on those maps.
Mainly because I don't want to play Kago tho... xD

Just had a look at three community-maps:
TC_Zoetemeer, TC_Monument, TC_Phelengton

Monument's texutres are broken...

TC_Phelengton and Zeotemeer get rather bad readings on the profiling tools, even Kagoshima is better...
see attachement, Palisades as reference, one thing to note tho, on Kago that is one of a few spots where performance is that bad, the community-maps have such bad performance almost everywhere.
For those who don't know what to look for, have a look at the Renderer time, something between 15-25ms is normal for official maps, anything above 30ms is going to cause problems for me.

It's hard to pinpoint the reason, but I suspect that not much thought was given to optimisation for the community-maps.

Just some tips from the 12th VR run at TC, set tickets to about 300 tickets and rounds of 40 mins (10 min setup, 30 min game).

It keeps the game fast paced but plenty of time to have fun.  If you want longer engagements then i would suggest 400 Tickets with maybe 5-10 more mins game time.

For TC commanders, make sure you have some quick and i mean QUICK *cough sparrowhawk cough* cappers at the start of the rounds.

I am dead keen for this, just have to confirm my timetable for that night...

On the maps front - I hate kagoshima too, but will play it if needs be. I suggest you test out warzone, it is a seriously good map, was used in the 31-hour battle a couple of months ago and seemed to run fine (I was there when it was roughly 8v8 so not max capacity but...)

Fronlines also looks promising I must say... And theres also Inferno and TR to consider?
