it really comes down to performance on those maps, as you can see they are performing similar to Kago.........
I don't have high hopes for other community maps... ... maybe SOMEONE's gotta write a little bit about how to optimize a map... :-\

How is TC_RingofFire these days? I admit I haven't played it since it's v0.2 release.

Keep it to 5k limit, no newbies to buff up into good assets, just good players to put in overpowered units =P

well if you disallow moneytransfer between squads in the first place, then I don't think it's going to be a big problem.
I don't know what tactics are going to be applied, but enabling them to transfer as much money as they wan WITHIN their squad will serve to keep the squad balanced. I just think it might be easier to coordinate a squad if everybody uses the same kind of asset instead of one assault, two medium and two light mechs/vehicles.

That's just me now, but to me it'd make more sense to set up different squads with different roles rather than a couple of random squads that try to cover every role on their own... but that's up to the commander I guess

Not that I'll be able to make it, but after playing the last 14v14 I think it is vitally important, especially in a TC match, to have the lances be mixed role.

High command issues orders down only to other lance leaders, and lance leaders up to high command. If Lance 3 is a brawlers only group and needs fire support, he has to relay this request up to the command channel and then await high command to order Lance 2, the support lance, to peel one or two guys off to help. Now Lance 2 is spread out across multiple combat fronts and communication and coordination starts to fray.

On the flip side, if you have mixed lances, and Lance 3 runs into a situation where it needs fire support, it need only look to its own Owens Prime or Hollander rather than have to request an asset to be sent over from a different lance by high command.

Also, mixed lances are boss fluff-tacular and I heartily approve.

well, the difference here is that the commander is in spectator mode, so he'll probably know what's going on anyways.
There is probably a pro and contra to each tactic, I'm kinda glad I'm not going to be commander... ;D

Honestly, how the Rangers and KoS did it during our match with GB was, "You half go that way, we'll go this way" and we each took care of half the map while also patrolling mid sections in a combined way.

After that it's just saying, I need a group to go xyz grid for defense or capping.

I really hope commanders are not in spectator mode, ruins the entire point of recon IMHO.
