Thanatos A is back! Hurray!

With the heavy gauss rifle.  Only one weird thing.  It has 6 shots per ton.  Why is this the only asset with that unique feature?

You mean the Thanatos A, and all regular Heavy Gauss had their ammo per ton moved up to 6.  Hgauss ammo is also cheaper than regular gauss right now for some reason.

It makes sense because you get less shots per ton, and thus need more free tons. Never liked how missing once with the HGauss means you just wasted a whole lot of cbills.

Jeah! I found my love for the HGauss a few months ago. I think at that time they either pimped the effects or I just started noticing it at all.
Hgauss just feels powerfull! And it is, of course, at medium range, a punch in the face/BT/arm/leg/CT

But the hollander doesn't have 6 shots per ton, does it?

Am I crazy now?

I love that the HGauss thanny is back, definitely my favorite heavy mech of all time.

I think the ammo cost is based on total damage output of all shells, so perhaps it makes sense to not cost a buttload compared to regular guass.

Hollander also has 6 shots per ton of HGauss.

It appears the HGauss did get a small buff in damage.

Hgauss buffs:

-10% damage increase to separate itself from the IHgauss (does less damage, but has more range and no damage drop-off)
-Ammo count increased to 6 shots per ton (from 4)
-Ammo price decreased to 1600 per ton (From 2100-something)

These, combined with the previous increase of the damage-dropoff range, are part of Operation Make-The-Hgauss-Not-Suck, a highly necessary project given that one of the new assets for 0.5.4 was kinda centered around 'em. :-X

Also, hooray for the return of the Thanatos A!

I don't really understand why it is back. The devs previously stated, that the HGauss should only be able to be built into hard points on a Mech's Torso, like the Holly or the Fafnir.

Maybe they decided to let it slide for now given how TERRIBLE the replacement Thanny A was?

The Thanatos has the worst variants of all the Heavies (Only ones that are really any good are the D, E, and the Hgauss one IMO. Rest of them have some massive flaws). It needed a buff in some way.

It'd be better with a dual RAC5 variant, jump jets, and 2 medium pulse lasers.
