That's a bug. If we knew about it, we would have fixed it, not told you about it.
Leer implied that he was aware that it existed before the patch went live. If I misread his post, I apologize.
Not a damn thing changed about their handling/movement parameters, i checked the log.
Maybe it's all in my head, then. Did handling change for any other assets that you know of?
No, though i believe they are frame-dependent.
Well, that explains that.
Yes, we know they are, and we're going to work on it, there is (and was) just some more important stuff to deal with.
Thank you. I know things like that are low priority--that's fine. It's nothing even close to a gamebreaker, just an annoyance. I've been yapping about this one for six months; thank you for taking the ten seconds to respond that nobody else was willing to.
I'll have a look at that, it might be a bug in the repair code.
Given all of the other issues I'm having that are apparently unique, it wouldn't surprise me if it was on my end. I've had repair times stutter before, for no apparent reason, but never just stop.
I also
may have had the same issue happen to a Catapult Prime on TC Mirage. I can't confirm that yet, though.
Since the Bushy is my alltime favorite, I can attest to that. Nothing about the Bushy has changed in terms of overall handling. Actually, I have been outmaneuvered by Thors/Lokis before this patch came out quite often, so it's not a new 'issue'.
No, it's not. It just feels worse now than in previous patches.
At this point I'm willing to chalk it up to same as X-Pulses and RACs: framerate. I'll dump my setting to low tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
@ devs
Is that intended or a design oversight? I must admit it feels weird.
I hope it's somewhere in their "to do" pile, rather than their "feature, not bug" pile. If so, I imagine it's not a high priority.
I vaguely recall something about mech geometry determining maneuverability (kind of like how the Puma's "shell" clips into its legs and knocks it down to half throttle), and a tetchy comment from a dev that amounted to"that's how it is, get over it", I believe in reference to the ginormous blind spot under the Mk. II's chin. Take that as you will.
I actually had much fun in a Mauler on Marshes killing other heavies and assaults. the other team had one or two Fafnirs going and boy are they easy to shoot at! sure they can alpha-kill most other mechs instantly, but with minimum team play they are toast.
That's true of any Assault, and that's as it should be. At least of the games I've been in this week, though, Fafs and Blood Asps is all I see.
something must have been changed on marshes, that was the first time i had real fun on that map.
Sounds to me like you got lucky.
That said, I've noticed that every time a new asset gets added, it changes the dynamic of gameplay overall slightly. The effect of the Asp and Fafnir on some maps appears to be mostly positive (Death Valley), and on others quite negative (Mirage, Thunder Rift). I haven't played TC Marshes enough this patch to have a feel for it yet.
