Yeah, I had noticed the TOG Aussie server there although I wasn't getting a ping from it and no one was on it at that time.

As I am starting to get into this game, I have toyed with the idea of renting a server in Singapore.  However, unless I think there will be a good population on it, I won't go that route.  I'm fine playing on the US servers for now  :)

I play from Tasmania (The island in the middle of nowhere to the south of Australia) on Huntress with 200-240ish ping..Only once have I been kicked for ping, and that's because I forgot to turn my torrents off.  ::)

Hey two tassie players! Im pretty close by - Im in adelaide.

I also get 200-240 on huntress, but the downside is that Huntress and that Texas based server are the only ones where I get acceptable ping :(

I think MartialDoctor is right though, if some legendary person was to set up a server in SE Asia or Aus/NZ then I dont really think it would be populated... Majority of the community is in europe or NA, so there'd be no reason for them to play on a distant server.

Ah well, luckily huntress is frequently one of the most populated servers and is used for some of the organised games too

I thought Strana Mechty(Clan Wolfs sever) was on the west coast of the US.  I haven't seen it open to the public very often lately, but that might be worth a try.

Also, and I thought of starting a separate thread for this, if US folks that play late at night here played on the TX server or some server closer to y'all, it might actually help the over all number of players.  I see alot of Pac people at that time, but am often infuriated by them, especially when they fly or play as dedi BA.

SOOOOOOOOOO hard to kill.

Oh yeah, if your ping is over 175, don't eject, die like a man! ;)

I suck!! But WE are AWESOME.  We started a unit.  What's that?!  YOU WANNA TOUCH MY UNIT?!! :P ^^12thVR Recruitment Page(clickthepic) ;)

Welp, it seems that Focht's server is live and kicking today, at least! Lots of people online - I had an absolute blast. Cheers for the game, guys.

(oh, and Adelaide also. Don't you know you're living in the A-town?)

Prime time here still usually sees a fair share of players (10+) on Huntress.  It's just that the ping is high for all of us on this side of the world.  Any server in the US will be this way.

Not really, half the time I get tore up by people with highish pings.  I couldn't count the number of times I tried to kill a BA with lasers, only to hit TAB and go, oh I see!   Doesn't always seem to be a two-way street, if ya' know what I mean.  That's Crysis for you I guess.

Huntress is located in New Jersey on the East Coast, I think.  That is an whole ocean and a continent to cross, you would get about 150-190 ping to a California server, if I am remembering correctly.  Not that I am trying to get people to not play on Huntress(still the best server, rotation-wise, stability, and admin-wise), but it would be nice to have everyone playing with similar pings, under 200 is usually just fine for most.

You just need to learn how to aim Alph :P

cheapshot aside I do know what you're talking about, it's tough to land hits on a high ping BA, a high ping ASF or Vtroll is many times worse though.

I do have bad aim, and I wasn't just talking about BA, Mechs with high ping seem to have no problem damaging me, while I just blast away at them, and hardly any damage registers.   Maybe it's the weapons that I prefer?

I think it works both ways Alph, as Invictus might be able to recall.

He pulled off the some major BS yesterday on Kago. He was raping up in a Bloodasp (the one with the LBX20s). We caught him alone in one of the backwater bases, 2 medium mechs (Scat A and Bushy E - me) attack him. He gets badly damaged, the scat goes crit IN HIS FACE... he walks off with a sliver of CT armour left. I chase him down in my bushy shooting him over and over again when he turns his CT towards me.

He killed my largely un-damaged bushy after an epic brawl before I could land the 1 registering hit onto his HUEG torso to kill him... and ALL my weapons do splash damage :(. I kept waiting till he turned to fire at me and let loose only to get hit beeps but somehow negligible damage. Granted it was also Invictus's blazing hot skill that helped, but seriously 2 torso sections were dark red / black...

That is what we oceanic peoples have to play through unfortunately :(

I never eject in time anyway, or if I do I die to splash damage!  ;D

Yeah, good point.  I haven't seen any servers with lower than 200 for me, though.  I've played on the Texas server and it wasn't any better than Huntress.

There is the server for TOG (The Older Gamers) is back up for Australian players.

I had trouble connecting by double clicking in the menu, but by typing in the ip and port it works for some reason :)

So what is the IP?? I cant seem to find it? What's the name of the server? Can we get a regular game around 5pm or so?
