SOME companies charge high price for the sake of it, others actually offer high quality for your buck - I'm with Aidan here, Astro are pretty good, had my A40s for at least 3-4 years, and still going strong - the modular nature helps too. I wrecked the mic (by being an idiot) and all I had to replace was the mic itself, rather than the entire headset.
