All three ideas suck  ;D ;)

P.S. The third idea is a good one, but heavily underestimated in fact. 8)

From a quick search on the term "Minelayer":

What? The search function has always been around - The devs just didn't put anything in the release notes.

Give the fella a chance, granted he didn't search but meh.

I like the idea, but I think it'd cause problems. A lot of animation would be needed, plus it's have to be tested against the new leg system.

Two posts what?

I'm pretty sure mines would be terrible; they'd be useless outside TC mode and far too powerful in it (unless mines were signposted with neon signs or the like, in which case they'd just be plain old useless). And whether or not they'd be useful, hitting mines would just be an exercise in aggravation on the part of the victim. And can't you just already hear the cries of "stop killing me you bastards" whenever a player in a minelaying vehicle comes under fire - the whining I see from LRM and Arrow IV boating players is already bad enough.

Minefields?
Only if we only get vibramines that have to be fine-tuned for a specific weight.  :P

Selected mines for a 55 ton mech? Well to bad they will never explode on mechs 40 tons or lighter, and detonate prematurely when a 70 ton or bigger mech comes closer then 100m. Enjoy your almost useless mines.  ;D

Those vibrabombs sound like they're perfectly designed and balanced for FPS gameplay. Hopefully, different munitions are allowed (assuming that doesn't stray to far from the BT universe), keeping the same functionality, and being balanced by only affecting a certain weight class range. I could see distracting explosions going off in high traffic areas, and using that opportunity to blast said enemy from an unusual vantage point. But I'd be thrilled seeing the variations of BT standard landmines: high-explosive, gas, inferno or smoke ordinances, using vibrabomb mechanics.

To be fair, the search button only works if you click on it from a certain angle.  Hopefully people won't exploit this bug.
