Running a mod of Crysis in low in 3d, not software, off your cpu? Why wouldn't you be happy with that?

Thief gameplay + Doom3 engine = The Dark Mod

Playing on low makes you happy while owning a Core i7? ;)
I just wanted to mention that the game is nicely playable, since you made it sound like it was not. (Plus I can save 200 bucks I would have otherwise needed to spend for a new graphics card. That is kind of a happy thing, yes.)

for the sake of completeness:
http://forum.mechlivinglegends.net/index.php/topic,20557.msg354698.html#msg354698
the autoexec.cfg i use on my A8-3820 APU on ASUS FM1/USB3.0 board with 4GB 1333 DDR3 RAM
it runs ~25+FPS with integrated 6550HD [((>:o<))] on this settings (touching 40FPS at times)
and ~30+FPS when i add the 6770HD with 1G DDR5 and 6pin additional power cord - from MSI  ::)

w/o 6770 it uses 90W in game (powermeter) ::)
and with 6770 around 130W in game ;)

on standby 2.5W (less than a OEM PC) and it's homebrew (CPU from Germany, used, MoBo from here (Serbia), same as RAM, SSD (SATA II) from P.R.C. (ebay), PSU ATX from online auction 15EUR 400W ATX2.01, none optical drive)

You might think to upgrade your CPU before trying any autoexec.cfg
AMD cores' performances are extremely limited. You need at least 4.2~4.4 GHz and 4 cores if you want this game to run decently (I consider "decent" an average of 40 fps or more) on an AMD CPU.

While i agree that single threade performance is quite lagging with this family of CPUs, i'm pretty content with my 2...3W/FPS right now
and I do get just that  ;D
Would I change anything i would go for SATA III and 1866MHz low cas latency ram before anything though.
Then I would maybe reach for the A8-3870K and a 212EVO cooler ::), but that is far ahead now.
I ewen ran this system off an 60W 12V DC PSU - had to undervolt/underclock it to 2GHz

And Yes mu autoexec.cfg makes wonders on low end range of machines,
 it's more like

You better try cest's autoexec and if that won't help, You must upgrade Your rig :-\
::)
as i crafted it on a 2x2.8GHz DDR2@800 and this little machine
