Server cvars: Variables that make you go Woo!
« on: January 27, 2012, 12:02:14 AM »
Admin, players, cannon fodder! Lend me your eyes! (this is the internet, ears would be foolish!) I have noticed a need, and  gentleman I have the solution. A thread dedicated to providing as many of the useful variables as I can think of! It can all be yours just for suffering through this obnoxious intro.

First some general tips

    Each of these is to be typed into the console as written ex. sv_password Hustle would make the server password Hustle (case sensitive).

    If you are adding these variables to your server.cfg file for autorun at startup, you will need to have an = between the cvar and the variable. sv_password=Hustle

    I do not recommend playing with the variables that will not have an affect on the style of game you trying to run.

    I have not included variables for those cvars as they are whatever you want them to be.

    Default values can be found in a clean server.cfg found in your \crysis wars\Mods\mwll folder.

    Some documentation regarding variables in this guide can be found in your \crysis wars\Mods\mwll\Documentation folder. This documentation includes additional server specific commands and information regarding those commands beyond the scope of this guide.

    Variables that require a yes or no answer are 1 for ON (enabling that  cvar) and 0 for OFF (disabling that cvar)

    I have not played around with Time Limit or respawn settings sorry don't know the format, if you do post here and tell me! [/li]

And now the star of our thread...

These variables can be applied to most games modes.

Finally a dedicated list for CVars, I could not find any on threads. Every response was "Go read -insert document here-" with no reference to its location.

+1 Kudos

You have to generate the file from within the game.

Add this to your autoexec.cfg:
Code: [Select]
consoleshow=1
DumpCommandsVars

Run the game.

Remove the lines from your autoexec.cfg.

Find the file inside your Crysis Wars-folder (or the mod-folder, I don't remember).

Anyway, nice to have a list here. Might be more accessible for some people.

Someone familiar enough with the files to do that isn't really who this guide is meant for, but thanks for adding that process. I am sure some will find it useful.

What?   :o

Crysis Wars\Mods\MWLL\Documentation = All the shit the OP listed (as he stated in his intro), just not formatted quite so nicely.

Well, the generated file contains about 11000 lines of information. Certainly there is something mentioned the documentation doesn't cover.

I am sure there are, but the documentation folders do hold everything you need to run a server.
Having said that, very nice list, I am printing it out.  ;)

The ultimate guide? Here:
http://freesdk.crydev.net/display/CRYAUTOGEN/Home

Also lists some Crysis2-only cvars, but if you're looking for an explanation for a command, that's the best place.

Considering how drunk I was when I made this post, I'm pretty impressed that was the only typo. Thanks for pointing it out. How about a sticky so this doesn't get lost?

Use gamemodee Test of Strength for that, and then sv_starting_cbills.
Tools and I:
   - MWLL Online Launcher (LAN UDP Forwarder) - evolution of past "Le Proof of Concepto" project: connect without Gamespy via packet redirection;
   - Vehicle Browser - "Pocket Wiki" Šokaolias (not really that though);
   - Rconnect 4.3 - Server tools: map manager/player voting add-ons;
   - CryHammer - Validates Patch/CDKey of Crysis Wars (now unable to validate CDKey due to turned off Gamespy servers).

It can be millions, so pretty high. You may need to set g_minteamlimit to 0 if its just you in the server, for the match to start, to award those cbills.

If you set it too high, the game will load with 0 Cbills. I use 10,000,000 personally.
