It makes mod developers cry on the inside when they see their mod's good name being sullied by piss poor admins and server rules that make absolutely no sense.  Yes they pay for the server and yes it's their right to develop their own set of rules but there comes a point where that freedom oversteps its bounds and begins to negatively affect the image of the mod.

The server described in the OP has done that.

Thats pretty much my entire arguement in three sentences.

"Arguing about battlemechs off the field of battle is like arguing as a spheroid, even if you win, you're still a freebirth!"

'It's too bad they don't have a "Report to Mother button", I bet you'd be slapping that one twenty-four-seven so she'd come dry your tears when your own idiocy leads you to failure in a game on the internet.' - dimachaerus

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

Let's hope the OP comes back to let us know which server was the offender, since it can't be Huntress for once.

At least huntress has reasonable, if also barmy, server rules and enforcement.

Our rules are, generally, created towards promoting fair and enjoyable gameplay, as the description in the autosay should be saying. Banning LRMs and kicking someone for using LRMs doesn't fit into that at all, that's someone being a douche.

My first thought was =9th= as well, but they wouldn't go that far, or so I hope at least.

The =9th= offers various servers with diffrent rulesets. Some are plain obvious through the name "MECH ONLY" and on the two other ones "TC/TSA" "OPEN" the rules have to be checked before playing as they might have changed.

There are limitations on some days, but they are mostly about playing fair and giving a balanced experience for all players, limitations to certain vehicle classes or not shooting legs. There are no weapon limitations on 9th servers. We're simply giving the community servers to experiance single parts / sets of the combined arms idea on diffrent servers.

Blindly accusing units and presenting them in a doubtful light isn't fair play either!

To get this discussion into a constructive direction where players might find out about the server theye been kicked from.

There should be an Game.log file in the CrysisWars folder which should contain at least the infos about the last server played on.
Maybe the log_Verbosity / log_FileVerbosity has to be adjusted to get all of the actions taken.

Correct me if im wrong as I'm currently far off from my CrysisWars folder.

Hey folks, what kind of discusion!

Regarding the =9th= Server i can say the following things:

- nobody will be kicked before talked to in inGame-chat,  we remind ppl to the rulez before any further action occurs
- we have different servers with different rulez, so if the rules donīt get togther with your gameplay just switch server, itīs a free world
- AND nobody will be kicked without a reason and without talking before

greetz to all

Haha, I was just called an asshole in game, for connecting the =9th= server to "kicking" ::). Even though I said, that I do not think, that it was the =9th= who did the incident in question in this thread and I wasn't even the one making the connection here in this thread in the first place. It was only my first instinct, because of your various rules and the other kick incident. You sure have some classy people on your clan ;).

It's amazing how something as trivial as a single server admin kicking a single player can snow ball into massive inter-community strife and illwill.  2 people had an argument, now it's a bar brawl.  Well played ye spirits of conflict escalation.

True at the very bottom of the text, i.e. *LOADING: Level ... , though it is just as easily found in Multiplayer > Internetgame > Recently played as Masakari pointed out.

You know there's a recently played servers button, or am I wrong?

*Watches the bar brawl*
*Shrugs*
*Smokes another fatty*

Since everything concerning moral/technical side has been said already and no answer of the "Original Poster" is near, how bout locking and/or deleting this ... I smell something wicked in here.

we don't kick people on huntress for using LRM's

We kick people for legging, trolling and being childish.
Some people have been banned for acting like little kids. (trollers)
They don't like it but we don't care as the rules are posted for all.
We have done our best to enforce the rules fairly. We are not perfect, but we are always working to improve.

HUNTRESS = no children allowed... act like an adult and follow the rules.

As a host, i personally have no problem with people discussing and passing on feedback about my server here.
But If the devs dont want people doing that, i guess that should be respected too.

I do find the idea of kicking someone for using LRM's (or any other weapon) incomprehensible though.
Part of the fun of this game is to find counters to any tactical situation, which is what the OP did.
To stiffle that is completely counter to what the game is about at its core.

That Was my point exactly.  To be warned that HEAVY use of LRMS would be a kicked offense... then to use them sparingly along with a direct attack (my attempt to adhear to the weird rule) seemed abusive.  Sure... they can do anything they want its their $$.  I wish I had written down the server.  But I was in total shock at  being kicked.  To answer some other questions.  The rule was not posted... only spoken in general game chat.

In respect to the Developers:  I didnt ask nor expect you to spend your time policing servers.  Right after I made my initial posting here...  I posted one about how much of an amazing job (specifically) that the Map makers do on this project.  It always blows me away to see a map come to life...  I have nothing but love and respect for this entire team and this project... Im still more excited about MW:LL than I am with MW OL.  I ment no disrespect.  Not at all... and I seem to have really upset some people I respect.  I merely wanted to let others know this sort of thing was going on.  At the time, there were only 2 active servers... the other was full.  Thats why I joined the one I did...  I wanted to see what the comunity had to say about the situation... if my experience was a rare abnormality or do such things happen often.  *I* had never had this happen and ive been playing for at least 2 years.

I took a look at the last servers button and their are six listed.  I couldnt figure out which was the last one (top or bottom).  Would not be fair to list all 6 as only one had an issue.  The others were awesome.

You just answered your own question.

Besides the No legging rule at huntress (which I only follow with obvious exceptions (critically damaged Owens mascing away like a dick)) I have never come across rules that limit gameplay options outside of organized play.

Sure, KoS server runs puretech on weekends sometimes, but that is a server command not an arbitrarily enforced rule.

I've been playing since first beta and I've never really seen this happen, so I wouldn't worry about it.
