Was already awesome when the parents ran it, and some years ago their daughter took over.
I've been friends with her in elementry school and now its still tasty as hell and I get bigger portions then everyone else ;D
And there is also the Osaka, japanese restaurant where I used to eat with my japanese class. Awesome food there.
Reminds me, havn't been there in forever, might go there soon. ;D

Thai express here has some wicked good Thai food (and the awesome thing is you can ask for spicy levels 1-10, which is awesome). Tokyo Grill has damn good Japanese. I'm sure neither of those names are very unique, at all, but they aren't chains. There's a couple other good non-chain restaurants, but I don't go to them as frequently.
