Feedback: Server Configuration

I'm curious what the general opinion is on the following game mode:

  • 10-15 Minute Rounds
  • 1-2 Lives Maximum
  • Random Starting CBill Amounts (between 100k and 400k)
  • Random Map Rotation (would be smallish maps to reflect the time limit)

Obviously, the idea is to mimic more organized deathmatch style play. I'm worried about people quitting when they die, rather than waiting out the round, hense the likely 10 minute limit. It would also be important that the round ends when all players from one team have died.

My biggest concern here is people who are AFK/Griefing and extending rounds to the point of frustrating others. It might require an active admin be available since we dont have a vote-kick system in place.

I don't know what happened to the BT community but no respAwn just does not seem to be popular anymore.

Yeah this makes me sad, because the mode is just so much fun... Tons more pressure and with a limited time, I think people may play a bit more aggressively.

Youre going to want to do it on the smallest maps you can find to keep the action intense and fast paced. Nothing ruins no respawn like a camp fest

We need a map where the starting locations are all 500m high, walking outside drops you into a bowl 1500m across with almost no cover. Simulating a combat drop into a warzone.

Make the mech bays be outside the map zone with a 2 min kill for out of bounds, so people can't grief a no respawn match by refusing to engage.

LastManStanding would be the closest MWLL can come to a No ReSpawn configuration, though I do not believe that is the entire reason for the lack of BT members picking up the MOD. I'm leaning towards the simple fact that there are no MechLab present. Yes I'm completely ignoring the fact that a great number of the old BT members are simply not hardware-wisely up to par with, well, this community, though it seems they are getting there eventually, from all the LRM boaters that are tirelessly revisiting the servers.

One recent comment ingame comes to mind, "MWO will never be as good as MWLL, because MWO only has Mechs", and that's from a player who barely had installed the MOD ^^ and that is where MWLL will always have the edge over MWO imo.
