Played MechWarrior 3, liked the Mech (Avatar, duh), liked its name... used it ever since. Sometimes I go by K-Machine, inspired by the aweshome (sic!) Bolt Thrower song.
Unfortunately nowdays I'm asked too many times if I got it from the movie or the animated series.

Hum so, you're portuguese? If you are, yey you're the 3rd one I've met in this game. :P
Tools and I:
   - MWLL Online Launcher (LAN UDP Forwarder) - evolution of past "Le Proof of Concepto" project: connect without Gamespy via packet redirection;
   - Vehicle Browser - "Pocket Wiki" ©okaolias (not really that though);
   - Rconnect 4.3 - Server tools: map manager/player voting add-ons;
   - CryHammer - Validates Patch/CDKey of Crysis Wars (now unable to validate CDKey due to turned off Gamespy servers).

Well, my name is Defender back from Planetside.

Shortened these days, it was DefenderOfTheEmpire, mainly due to my undying love for the Terran Republic and my inability to be offensive (due to shitty framerate and lack of ADADSKILLZ) as I was the master of camping Generators and Control Consoles with a Thumper/Rocklet. I could Defend a choke-point like there was no tomorrow and loved to sit in entrenched positions with a backpack full of spammy goodness with my med/repair tool at the ready.

Prior to that it was MatrixmaN/Ultimatrix on the Zone while playing MW3. This was based on my affection for Enzo Matrix (from Reboot), and the fact that in doing 3D I always worked in a Grid/Matrix. Named my company MatrixGraphix and I still float the name about as my smurf/alt.

Initially the nickname KitLightning was taken from a comic character I did with a friend back in the 90's, it didn't last long before we dumped that silly stunt.

SuperName: Kit Lightning
SecretID: Arnoll White
Age: 15
Height: 1,50m
Weight: 38kg
Powers: Runs like Lightning *doh*, creating several sound barrers which shatters every windoww in his path. Can exceed the speed of upto 200.000km/h to near light speed.
Can shoot electrical charges of lightning bolts or streams against targets.
Drawback: He often bumps into the streets cornes or bypassing cars. Has a very very bad hearing. Cannot function outside the grid, he simply runs dry of energy.

Origin: Arnoll White, alias Kit Lightning, son of Brad and Bimbo White, lives in Silicon City on Cartridge Street #17 (the number comes from Enki Bilal's "Exterminator 17"). At a time Arnoll was sitting and playing on his newly aquired precious toy, the sausage U64 which had an immensive amount of 64k memory (wow). A day Arnoll trolled onward playing his favoured game, Sonic The Hedgehog 3000, all immersed in the game (mmost likely sitting and fantasicing he was the Hedgehog) he didn't notice that a storm had begun outside . The storm came closer and became more ferosious each second and suddenly a lightning was sticking right into the electrical discharger of the house, going directly down into the U64 and onwards into Arnoll, resulting in his super duper powers...

Later this character was turned into the RP character Martin "Kit" Wyld for BattleTech. And yes you guessed it, he's a descendant of the sane Wyld family, who formed the Wyld Jokers after Geoff “Crazyman” Wyld ;D

*shrugs the secret is out silly you*

When i was 13, joined a serious business forum roleplay, wanted my character to be nicknamed 'Deaths Bane'. Chose a similar nickname for actual forum registration as couldnt be bothered of thinking of anything else.

It stuck, and ten years later im still using it for the majority of sites.

New idea- would I be able to use an external hard drive to add RAM and/or improve gigahertz?

Back in my college days, I got involved in a collectable card game called Legend of the Five Rings, a game partly inspired by Musashi's Book of Five Rings.  It started with 8 factions or "clans".  The second time I actually played the game, was in a local draft tournament I was dragged into, and got handed a Crab Clan (a faction deck).  I lost horribly but learned the Crab faction was an extremely strong defensive military faction (there being 3 different ways to win the game - military, honor/dishonor, enlightenment).  Anyways, I stuck with the game and the Crab faction for several years in college.

The Crab clan is divided into 4 "families", the Hida (the main family, the one from which the leader of the clan comes, known for its strength and direct military prowress), the Kaiu (engineers, siege specialists, tacticians), the Kuni (spellcasters specialized in fighting demons), the Yasuki (merchants who keep money and weapons flowing to the Crab war machine), and the Hiruma (military scouts and stealthy hunters, known for stamina, speed, and quick wits).

At about that time I was starting to have an online presence (i.e. college in '97) and started using the Hiruma family name as part of my usernames, as I liked their characters.

Kai comes from a certain famous mechwarrior whose books I read when I was even younger than that, and who (at least early in his career) tended to lose his mech, but generally won battles single handed at ridiculous odds.

I should point out Hiruma is the family name of the handle, so in English you might read it as Kai Hiruma.

Having used a wide variety of nicks on online forums (and still do), when I started SRSLY playing a online game - FarCry - in 2005 I then chose the nick "Imperious Leader" (Cylon baws in the original BSG). Got tired of that, so when in 2008 I switched to Forgotten Hope 2 (WW2 total conversion for Battlefield 2) I chose my old highschool nickname "Kelmola", which was supposedly a simplified - easier to say and write - form of my real surname (simplified = horribly misspelt), which both my classmates and the teachers (as well as any customer service personnel I have ever had to deal with) found very hard to spell correctly, despite it being a genuinely Finnish surname (although with clearly Latin origins) containing no "foreign" letters, and pronounced exactly like it's written (one of the main advantages of Finnish). The difficulty probably comes from the fact that it's quite rare (there used to be a farm - from which my name comes - and a few villages in the general region with the same name, AFAIK people having the surname must have had a relative originally coming from one of these), and there are several other surnames resembling it (to which it is often confused), and it still "Finnicized Latin name turned into a Finnish place name".

However, since then I've found out that what was supposedly easy to read for Finns is still so very hard for non-Finns. No, there is no capital "I" in the middle of the nick, that's an "L", yes, there is an "L". Oh well. To maintain at least some logic, I nevertheless persisted with the nick as I began my ever-worsening addiction to MWLL in the autumn of 2010.

Some funny shiet on that there website. Brings back memories! I also used to go by the name SmoCho in CJF in MW3 days... But now I'm the Sneak, as decided during some funny drinking banter between my bro and I.

Had already some names :

-Chester (ahh, those good ole MW3 Zone times, =TK= be praised, and nope I dont mean Chester "Squealy" Bennington, I´m talking cigarettes here, or cheese, whatever you deem tastier)

-Antalope (a close neighbour to the wellknown Antilope, this animal hunts humans; the Antalope was given to me by a little girl i played once with, she was a tiger and I was the Antalope because my friend introduced me as Antal Christicz, i was nommmed and found to be tasty by little Miss Tigress)

-Boon (yep, sometimes I consider myself as such, happens very rarely nowadays, was given to me by some psychopathic, aimbotty english CS guy I once duelled, DE´s vs. AWP ... my deagles of desparation won in 6 out of 10)

And now I am merely a "Radfahrer".
If you need to know : thats a cyclist
I wear this tag since 2005 , basically 2 years after my driving license was revoked for speeding in public ( I was videod by Highway policemen, and I was a wee bit too fast^^ 218km/h on the video, so they didnt even get me in full go on tape...pheew, and no, it wasnt my car, it was my father´s which I still had after being sent 200km on some bookfetching errand) reflecting about how my life very quickly changed very abruptly (namely from full sun to null sun, but thats some other book there).

Done explaining the handle thingie, I guess.
