Mechwarrior 4 Graphics mods

Are there any good mods that can improve Mechwarrior 4 effects such as: Textures? Skies? Weather? Particle Effects (Weapons, explosions, etc)?

I want to play Mechwarrior 4 again, and Im more than positive I can already max its graphics to the fullest, Even higher would be even better.

There is a high definition patch you can install that will MW4 look better.  I'd recommend you install all of mektek  mech packs if you haven't already and then install this.

Is the HD Patch just for Mercs 4, or does it work for the first 2 Mechwarrior 4 games as well?

Im not sure if I can see a difference in terrain texture quality. Im talking the default maxed graphics vs. default max + the HD pack. The terrain still seems to have blurry textures in some areas no matter what. Maybe thats just an effect that was inteded for some ground textures?

Ok, my bad, I do see a difference, at least in Mercenaries. New sounds too, wouldnt have guessed.

But, I still havent been able to find any High Definition Patches for Vengeance or Black Knight. If you can kindly find me those too, if they exist?

Might as well point me also where I can find the best MW4 files source.

There is a difference look at the missile slots on any mech and you should see it.  I don't believe there is an HD patch for Vengeance or Blacknight.  The best place for Mechwarrior 4 support these days is: http://www.mektek.net

There is a whole section on the forum for technical support.  I recommend you download the mech packs they have made.  They have added tons of mechs and weapons to the game.  If you run into trouble installing the packs make a post in the proper section and the community will lend you hand.  I've helped a few people getting mechwarrior 4 mercs running on newer computers.  If you running vista it takes extra effort but it is possible.

Please note is designed for Mercs.  It will also work in concert with Mektek latest mech pack.  Recommend you go to www.mektek.net for support or questions.

I honestly don't know.  Again i refer you to mektek.  All I know is that the mod changes the textures and some other stuff.

Actually for maps your best bet would be to go to http://www.mechwarriorleagues.com/cgi-bin/main/index.cgi  there are few CDs you can download containing just about every map currently in use.

For the high definition patch, you'll get far more accurate information about it at mechstorm.net A few of mechstorms members had a hand in creating the high definition patch, and host the files. Mektek made the mekpaks though, and you can find them there.

Anyway, any questions you have about mapping and scripting, etc. for MW4, BK, or Mercs you'll find there, they'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. The guys there have a policy of sharing the things they've learned. Just as an example of their willingness to share knowledge, just take a look at Mechstorm's Complete Mapmaking tutorial. Mektek on the other hand is quite the opposite and I wouldn't recommend going there for answers about anything but the mekpaks. I just don't trust them to be honest about anything they didn't create themselves.
