http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Ares_Conventions

The Ares Conventions actually predate the Star League, and were championed by the Free Worlds League and the Capellan Confederation; they're basically a how-to guide to civilised warfare - don't use WMDs, don't use orbital bombardment, don't attack civilian populations, don't destroy lostech, etc. They were noticeably suspended during the first and second succession war, and largely ignored by the Blakists and some of the Clans during the Jihad.

The conventions are nominally supported by all of the successor states, but whether or not they are observed is more often a matter of expediency than of principle.

Greetings,

Normally to be in the "Colossal Mech" category the Mech would need to exceed 100 tons. Colossal mechs also are normally crewed by 3 operators, pilot, sensors/communication, weapons. The Zeus only weigh's in at 80 Tons, do you have reference materials that list it as that category?

^Great necro, but the "Zeus" is one of the many variants of the Battlemech called Ares, which is around 130 tons.

Greetings all,

Yes, I see now.

ĽARS-VA - One example sighted named Zeus. This variant of the Ares is armed with a pair of ER PPCs and 3 SRM 6 launchers which allow the 'Mech to engage an enemy at long range, opening holes in a targets armor and is capable of seeking chinks in damaged sections.
(other variants Hera, Hades, Poseidon) - seems some one had a liking for the Greek gods while naming the 4 models.
