Consistency for new terms
« on: January 18, 2013, 11:28:43 PM »
For updating the wiki to include some of the new terms that are displayed, how do we want to list them in order to stay consistent?

Do we want to exactly match the in-game display?

i.e.
cHLL
cHSL
-0.5t Armor
cLBX5
EOptics
Std JJ
Impr JJ

One thing I'm seeing a lot of is "EOptics" vs "Eoptics", which probably doesn't matter TOO much.

JJ vs. iJJ could leave someone wondering if the JJ entry needed updating, whereas Std JJ and Impr JJ leaves no ambiguity.

What about the lowercasing of the "c" for the Clan designation though?  Do we want to start applying that across the board?

I like most of the terms.

Clanner stuff should be indicated with bigger case "C", in my opinion. Isn't that how they do it in the official media?

(you could go with "C LBX5")

i.e.
C HLL
C HSL
-0.5t Armor
C LBX5
EOptics
Std JJ
Impr JJ

I like the new way for what it's worth. Focuses on the type of weapon while still indicating it's the clan version. It also makes sense that the wiki follows follows the way things are presented in-game.

Oh yeah, I also noticed that some mechs have the leg internals counting towards the total armor, and some mechs do not.

Which way is correct?  And since the equipment loadout now displays the modification of armor as an adjustment off the base, should the armor schematic show the "base" armor now instead of that of the Prime?

As the leg internals are essencially free armor, it shouldn't count towards the total armor. At least I was corrected by someone to assume that.
Tools and I:
   - MWLL Online Launcher (LAN UDP Forwarder) - evolution of past "Le Proof of Concepto" project: connect without Gamespy via packet redirection;
   - Vehicle Browser - "Pocket Wiki" Šokaolias (not really that though);
   - Rconnect 4.3 - Server tools: map manager/player voting add-ons;
   - CryHammer - Validates Patch/CDKey of Crysis Wars (now unable to validate CDKey due to turned off Gamespy servers).

I don't count internals when calculating a mechs total armor for the reason Bruno mentioned. And it also technically isn't armor, but thats just nitpicking.  ;D

I'd also start using the "c" for clan equipment, if only because it is like that ingame.
