Hey Chaos did you ever end up playing the actual MW RPG or did you just use your own sudo RPGesque type setup with CBT?

heh.. i have to get credit to one of the people im playing with he put up a valiant... overly LONG... fight for Prezno. Wolves of course dominate the field in the end... i swear im unstoppable in CBT... hehe yet to lose at a tourney either. 6 hours of brutal dice rolling.... lost a Khan in that fight too... bye bye Riddik

You really like bragging about yourself, don't you? Whether it's how much you know about battletech or how much you dominate/are going to dominate inCBT/living legends.

Anyway, although I don't have too much time for tabletop gaming anymore, I think I'd like to give CBT a shot at some point. I'm not really a fan of the hex system but I guess it makes things much more clear and easier to measure. In Warhammer, you move things with a ruler, so sometimes there's some really close calls that can end up deciding a game. Does CBT use only d6, or are there other size dice involved? One of the nicer things about warhammer was simplicity; it was easy to memorize and play without referring to a book, and it only used d6 so things rarely got too complicated.

CBT uses one or more D6.  I played a variant back in the day that allowed for free movement using rulers.  It was infinitely more fun but the hex-counters hated it because it took away their advantage.

I don't mean to unnecessarily bring up a dying topic, but if you're jonesing for CBT go grab MegaMek. They even have campaign servers, the most popular being mekwars.
If you NARC it, they will come...

Megamek... What a wonderful bit of software that is.  Hey has anyone thought to use something like Megamek to plan out battle strategies for  Living Legends?  I know that sounds geeky, but it would eliminate the need for a war room in my den. :)

No overwatch, it sound´s gecky of you to say you have "no need of a war room"! what should you then do with all that space.
