We plan to make both possible. Not all of use have, or use joysticks :).

Cool! Look forward to getting behind a mech with my Joystick like I did in MW3 back from the old days  :)

Well in all honesty i think it's a more accurate way but as far as fun goes i think it's way better to be playing with the joystick! Something about torso twisting on the Z axis is just so much more fun than spinning my mouse all over the mousepad.

IIRC I was a fair bit more proficient with the joystick over M & KB as I started with the Mouse and Keyboard, and then decided to try it with the stick. Never looked back  :)

Well ever since the beginning of MW4, I've always played in a mech with mouse and keyboard. Instead of WASD, I used ESDF - just because I had more keys around my left hand to play with when I needed to setup all my other controls like Stop = A, Target under crosshairs = W, toggle forward reverse = Z, look left = X, look right = C, zoom = R, coolant = G, Crouch = V, Next Target = T, Next friendly = Q. Ect. ect.

I couldn't play with the joystick alone, I need my buttons ;D. I guess I got into the habit of playing with ALL my features of my machine ever since X-wing. I love having to do just as much on the keyboard as I did flying. Also the mouse was there since I didn't have to go far when I wanted to play in a mech or go play as infantry ;), So I treated it like just a bigger version of an FPS.

And of course going into the Battlewalkers in 2142 was a breeze for me since I've always been used to the WASD "sorta" setup. Of course the walker took care of itself so all I needed to do was point and shoot. Ended my career in 2142 with 100/1 K:D ratio, also First Place in the world as Walker pilot in Beta Baby! Yeah! I'm probably still up there on the ladder board for walkers. Look for xKam1Kaz3x.

I've thought of doing joystick and Keyboard, but since I'm just so used to playing this way, I'ma stick with it, even in our mod ;).

heheh... joystick...  :P

i used my trusty CH Flightstick + Pro Throttle ruled in Heavy Gear (as DOD Hammer back then  ;D) and MW2, 3 and 4 until i broke the stick in a particularly nasty battle (talk about cockpite damage :D).

never played a Mech game without a joystick. just doesn't feel natural  ;).

LOL!! That may be so, but you can still get really into a game, even if it's M & K. I remember many a time I got asked in Mech 4 'How do you aim so well when torso twisting and using your arms like that? Even in the air??'... Mouse + Keyboard :D. Hell I even played with mouse when flying choppers in Battlefield 2 ;).

Come to the dark side of M & K!!! :D :D :D

anyone ever thought of using two joysticks and foot pedals? or a joystick and mouse combo? or any other combos for that matter?

coz Mechs seem to have more moving parts than the average FPS shooter. was just thinking out loud...

Could always make our own 'Controler system' like Steel Battalion. LOL! Check out this Youtube vid...

But seriously, I think 2 Joysticks and foot pedals + keyboard in the middle would be kick ass :).

Well a mech isn't exactly a chopper... It's not just the Pitch, Roll, and Yaw like most aircraft, but the gyro movements of a bi-pedal machine that should move similar to a walking Human or Ostrich. Not to mention all the controls needed for the extra electronics like radar, radar jammers, Jump jets, Weapons and so on...

A mech really should have more controls than a chopper :).
