Well, you need to ban all clan mechs because i will kite you all day long in Scat, BlackLanner, Loki, Thor and other absolutely devastating mechs. "Ryo B, Cougar F, Scat A and Madcat G" are just pub stars, nothing more. Solitaire Prime, who can remove back armor of most mediums from one alpha? All day arry day!

Since to my knowledge there has NEVER been a 2v2 tournament, and that most of this speculation is theory crafting and pub experience on FAR larger maps than these SA maps, I am loathe to use a spending limit. Perhaps we can add tech limits per round, but spending limits are annoyingly complicated.

I will probably adjust a number of rounds based off number of teams so you must understand that you will run out of the most tryhard clan mechs quicker than you realize.

No. Asymmetrical balance.

Its 2v2 event, just look at number of caln mechs. And is not a question that clan mech have advantage with same weight (Hollander vs Scat, Ryoken VS Bushy, Warhammer vs Nova). So basically if you want to win you not gonna use IS tech. I'd like to see price based rules as well, clan meta is boring.

Ryoken Vs Bushy is closer than you think. The clan lights are amazing against heavier IS mechs but are not as good against IS lights because they are slow and fat compared to the IS mechs.

But forget it, not gonna start ranting balance here. I'll think about tech restrictions, but for now don't worry to much about it and lets some play some games.

How about a 2v2 aero category?

There actually is a SA aero map... but nah, I don't think there are enough pilots for that. At least for now.

I might do something like this I dunno. I might have every round different, CvC, ISvIS, Forced mixtech, and Freeform.

I want to see how many sign up first, heck if we only have a few teams there won't be much of a tournament to balance.  :-X

I would say, please do not ban brawlers: finally they have a chance to shine (in Forever Legends the most used assets were all long range snipers).

And i would definitely be up for an aero 2vs2, or maybe even tank or BA! Let us have funwith the various assets that make MWLL unique!  ;D

Yes, brawlers schould be in. Because brawling is really fun in MWLL. Tanks? Lets Try it. I think in Tank vis Tank we must consider that putting a  Partyvan against a Demo is inbalanced (they are the same weight class but not firepower). Both teams must get comperable tanks.

Sure, i have never seen a tank tournament soi do not know well what the requirements should be, however different firepower could often mean just different weaponry and thus playstile ;)

Well, I thought about tanks but they're pretty uninteresting in small scale battles. Its sort of like fighting a brick with tons of firepower. I find that around 80 tons an Awesome or Masakari would make for a more interesting fight (to play as and to watch) than a Demo or Huit sitting there and pewpewing.

I banned Daishis and Fafnirs just as much because I figured they would be boring to watch as because they're simply not balanced.

Don't worry, I thought about variant bans and have dismissed them, if there are any restrictions other than tonnage it will be the techbase on a round by round basis.

Also, Cycloner, can you give me names for your pilots?

I also think the rules must be as simple as possible, we don't have enough teams yet anyway, so maybe it's best if we don't complicate things too much.

I agree that we need to see some IS action as well, not just Clan stuff. So how about this?
Normal matches: 1st round: IS mechs only, 2nd: Clan mechs only, 3rd: one IS and one Clan mech per team.
Finals: One IS and one Clan mech per team in all 5 rounds.

Anyway it's just a thought, I'm sure Invictus will come up with something  :)
