Warhammer C
« on: November 23, 2016, 11:40:33 AM »
I recommended this build to the devs a while back and I was super stoked that it ended up in game. But I've heard from a few people that it could really use some ammo. So I've got two proposals from various people to fix this issue. Let me know which one you prefer or if you have any other ideas.

Warhammer C (Current)
37 tons of podspace
11 for LBX10
10 for SSRM6 x2
10 for LBL x2
1 for BAP
1 for GECM
2 for LAMS
2 for DHS x2

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warhammer C (Proposed SSRM Build)
37 tons of podspace
11 for LBX10
8 for SSRM4 x2
10 for LBL x2
1 for BAP
1 for GECM
2 for LAMS
2 for DHS x2
2 for ammo

SSRMs need to be radar active to lock on and this mech has GECM. With GECM you don't have to worry about being radar active. The old warhammer prime, who's electronics package this mech inherits, was known for causing screen shake with it's PPCs and some players preferred to chain fire their PPCs both to manage heat better and to cause the screen shake to last for longer. SSRMs have screen shake, too and that's good for this mech. Since this mech is a mid-range mech with some brawling ability, SSRMs are nice because they track well out to their max range (unlike SRMs). Also, as of version 080, this is the only Warhammer with SSRMs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Warhammer C (Proposed SRM Build)
37 tons of podspace
11 for LBX10
8 for SRM6 x2
10 for LBL x2
1 for BAP
1 for GECM
2 for LAMS
2 for DHS x2
2 for ammo

This one will definitely have a higher DPS and the next version is expected to have a tighter cone of fire on SRMs so current SRM behavior should be taken with a grain of salt when judging this build. This mech is so loaded down with electronics that going for heavier versions of the chosen weapons systems probably isn't a good idea. Regular SRMs are pretty weight efficient weapons in MWLL.

I know you're precious about that LB10-X but I'd like to see a pulsehammer:

2x LPL - 14t
3x SSRM6 - 15t
BAP, GECM, LAMS - 4t
3xDHS - 3t

Now you've got 3 tons left to work with to turn into 3 tons of ammo.

Or, alternatively:

2x LPL - 14t
1x DSSRM6 - 9t (now on the shoulder mount)
2x MPL - 4t
BAP, GECM, LAMS - 4t
4xDHS - 4t

And 2 tons ammo.

BUT, if I had to go with one of yours it'd be the Streaker one.

That was a long, long time ago. It didn't survive with the modified heat system several versions back.

I like these ideas, though streaks run fairly hot and so do LPLs. Even increasing the mech to 4 extra DHS might not be enough. Maybe this build would work? I like the idea of having more than one streak launcher to make the screen shake longer. A single DSSRM6 isn't going to have the desired effect.

How does this build sound?

Warhammer C
37 tons of pod space
12 for SSRM4 x3
12 for LPL x2
1 for BAP
1 for GECM
2 for LAMS
6 for DHS x6
3 for ammo

I like the SRM better:
Quote
Warhammer C (Proposed SRM Build)
37 tons of podspace
11 for LBX10
8 for SRM6 x2
10 for LBL x2
1 for BAP
1 for GECM
2 for LAMS
2 for DHS x2
2 for ammo
And i would call it "Shit hits fan" version:

Warhammers are usually picked when going gets tough:
One want's them to go in,and to go hard
And if You are hitting, sure as hell You want Yours hits to count:
Brawling HOWTO
Code: [Select]
GECM= see before being seen
go passive
sneak onto the enemy
SRM6
LB-X10
SRM6
LBL
SRM6
LBL
SRM6
LB-X10
SRM6
here we are at a point of either fall back or and enemy rendered "hands-free" at least 50% ("farewell to arms" mode), or why not, if sub 60 tons, CT toasted to black?
This one could work and wouldn't be OP for limited range of main punch (twin SRM6)
Provided those two SRM don't share  same body section?
Prolly the new jack of all trades?

ot to mention it's twin LBL + LB-X potential at 600m?

Well I'm not sure about MWLL build rules and I'm not at the MWLL machine to check, but I was running off the assumption that IS LPLs were 7 tons. If they're 6 then you can slap on an extra 2 DHS to my designs.

And on the 2 SSRMs vs DSSRM, is there anything stopping us from putting the two MPLs in a medium bipod on the shoulder mount? Then you can have the two torso launchers back, but need to sacrifice a single ton from somewhere.

No way of making it viable under the current system then (I don't think it'd need much else in the way of firepower besides some LAMS maybe)? I'll have to reread the heat mechanics changes, it's been a while since I looked through the changelog.

I've attached an older version of the build rules to this post. I find it easier to use than the current one.

If 6 DHS is too many, we can scale it back to 5 DHS and use the free ton to upgrade the shoulder mounted SSRM4 to a SSRM6.

Yes, you probably can put two MPLs in a medium bipod in the shoulder, but I'd have to ask.

Warhammer C (hotter build)
37 tons of pod space
8 for SSRM4 x2
5 for SSRM6
12 for LPL x2
1 for BAP
1 for GECM
2 for LAMS
5 for DHS x5
3 for ammo
