PPC heat damage is brutal. Couldn't find anything about it in the changelog, but had some in-game chat with Kh0rn, who confirmed the tweakage.

As much as I love PPCs, they are extremely unbalanced right now. A chain-fire sequence from an Awesome easily overheated my Widowmaker Daishi to the point I couldn't even shoot back. Conversely a PPC hit to an asset carrying PPCs (or any high-heat weapon), and just fired them, is practically equivalent to a quick heat death. 700 m range flamers ain't fun (well, it is, for a while).

You know whats fun?

When a line of code that has been there for ages and ages suddenly becomes relevant.

Was it not working before? Who knows. It certainly wasn't changed.

Yes, they transfer heat.

They were originally intended to ages ago. The line of code sat there in the xmls and never worked all this time.

For some reason which only jesus himself knows, this hotfix activated that line of code and so now they're doing tons of unintended heat transfer.

At this point I'm not sure if its worth hotfixing for two reasons:

1. Making yet another installer and informing everyone again.

2. At this point we're more concerned about more things mysteriously breaking with more small patches.

For the average game it probably wont be a problem.

Organized play its going to be exploitable though.

How did you guys manage to get Wildlands?  I don't remember uploading it anywhere.  I had thought it was forever lost but recently stumbled across a old version on a lost harddrive and was thinking about working on it again for you guys since this community thing is getting going.  Can you show a further out screenshot so I could see how old your version is?

Interesting fact: night vision in 0.7.1 was not really IR-like. Looks like it was a bit more blueish.

There might be an HUD update featuring a new turret / torso twist indicator for ground assets in the next patch (hopefully), and yes, I already started designing a new HUD for flying assets. Not sure if it will come in the next update, tho :)

PPC heat thing is pretty absurd, I killed a madcat earlier in a single shot when I waited for him to fire then shooting him myself with my Awesome C.  I've never seen a mech melt that fast in 5 years of playing this game.

No I meant: I never use Aerospace, so I wouldn't notice if Aerospace still have the good HUD from before 0.7 ;)

Indeed. Even if you are not up against an Awesome C - if you are not on a particularly cold map in a cold mech, even one PPC hit might get you into trouble or simply cause you to cease fire for a while.
