Fully singleplayer MechWarrior 5 announced

Quote
Set during the Third Succession War of 3015, MechWarrior 5 puts you in the cockpit of a "green MechWarrior mercenary" caught in the conflict by factions vying to control the Inner Sphere—the region of space surrounding Earth. True to MechWarrior, pilots won't just need to prove themselves on the battlefield but will also oversee the maintenance and enhancement of their BattleMechs. Along with the emphasis on player choice, MechWarrior 5 seems to adhere closely to the traditions established by the earlier MechWarrior games.

Hm...

So it's fully singleplayer MechWarrior 5 in the style and gameplay of MWO (more or less). Could be fun.

Eh, shouldn't they finish what they started first? Anyway, considering the developer, I don't expect anything good. I hope I'm proven wrong eventually.

Well, we can only hope that they can finally develop what they wanted to do in the first place. I'd still rather have this though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC2lsZU_Y4A ;)

Considering last single player MW game was released what, 15 years ago or something? This is way better than nothing. Besides, if modding scene will be half as good for MW5 as it was for MW4, we can expect the game to be further improved by the community.

This is way better than nothing.

I've never followed that logic.

I'll believe it when I see it on steam or on a store shelf.  I'm highly reluctant to be hype for this after how mwo has been handled by piggie.

Prodigal son my ass.

Quite right. I won't be fooled again with a founders pack either.

I like the attention to detail and the out-of-mech element, I hope it stays in and is more than just an intro.

Don't cock it up PGI.
