I wonder if there's any truth to this.
« on: December 10, 2016, 05:36:49 AM »
Whilst searching for the blender porn that I find "oh so spice", I stumbled across this post on imgur. http://imgur.com/gallery/5S2ZX. Now I do sort of hope it's not true, but I can't help but take a small amount of pleasure from the situation.

Hopefully everyone will be ok and crim and kami won't have to sell their ring pieces to make ends meat (I'm proud of that pun).

Neither of them still work for Crytek, their both at Cloud Imperium now but I'm sure they appreciate the thoughts.

You're giving them 1 month and 13 days more than I would after not getting paid.

First the salary issue: http://kotaku.com/crytek-employees-say-theyre-not-getting-paid-again-1790012755
Then a press release addressing the issue and announcing that some studios were going to be closed: http://crytek.com/news/crytek-outlines-future-plans-and-focuses-on-return-to-core-competencies
News report about the above, with also this interesting bit:
Quote
So, where did Crytek get its sudden influx of cash to pay staff wages? One rumour we've heard is it came from Mail.ru, a huge Russian internet company that's buying Warface, Crytek's free-to-play shooter, and Warface 2, which is currently in development but not announced. We've heard Mail.ru will take over publishing of Warface in January, and there may be layoffs as a result. It's important to note that Crytek has yet to confirm this.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-12-20-crytek-breaks-silence-lets-go-of-multiple-studios

And now the Turkish government made a deal with them: http://www.tweaktown.com/news/55627/crytek-receive-500m-investment-turkish-gov/index.html

So they seem to have stabilized. We'll see what the future holds, games-wise.
Tools and I:
   - MWLL Online Launcher (LAN UDP Forwarder) - evolution of past "Le Proof of Concepto" project: connect without Gamespy via packet redirection;
   - Vehicle Browser - "Pocket Wiki" Šokaolias (not really that though);
   - Rconnect 4.3 - Server tools: map manager/player voting add-ons;
   - CryHammer - Validates Patch/CDKey of Crysis Wars (now unable to validate CDKey due to turned off Gamespy servers).

I did know that already, but I'd thought my facetiousness was obvious.

Do Crytek make games now? I don't remember them doing much of the sort before hand.

Crytek is cheaper to payoff the due wages than to get sued about.

Also the workers are probably to receive more cache if paid off than if sue and pay the lawyer it's fee.

One way or the other, lawyers always win.

I'm sure it's all absolutely legitimate, Turkey after all is a jewel of Democracy and not in the least shady.
