TNT2 was before Gforce?

I'm not 100% sure (I can't remember to be totally honest), but I believe so.

It sure was!. The first computer I paid and built myself had a Diamond Viper V550 GFXcard with a TNT chip on it. I used it until Mechwarrior 4 came out, then took a massive step with a Nvidia 4200ti AthlonXP build.

so, @Bill, did You actually try this OP title in the end?

I really enjoyed it for a week, and was really refreshed by the concept.

Also tons of new levels out there (downloadable on the forums), for those with a sparse schedule ;)

@JLZ
That was before Diamond and S3 merged!  :o (they merged and finally VIA bought out S3 and Savage)

Reminds me on my water cooled Cyrix M2 OCed @83 or @75 while Pentium II-s where shipped @100 already (ending '90s).

The HW dealers where ripping off back then (up to 50% interest) and pushing cheap "as good as original" Chinese and non Intel goods.

It was the dawning of AMD with it's K5 falling short to Pentium II if I remember it correctly?

Later, a friend bought an (overpaid) Celeron-300A and the all crowd's envy with it's legendary 150% OC capacity to play CS "finally en par to the western players"

I don't have a mobile phone mate, so I'm afraid not.
