PixelMek: The Game
« on: January 08, 2017, 10:58:59 PM »
PixelMek is a python based game I've worked on since last summer, which is an Alpha Strike rules based game using pixel mech artwork from some of the guys in the MWO forum community.

The first playable version of PixelMek is here:

And here's a pre-release video to get an idea of what it is like:

Whey! Nice one dude.

I actually really like the art style, reminds me of the Advance Wars games to a degree.

Actually my inspiration is the Front Mission game on SNES (though obviously no close-up battle scenes)

Well that influence is kinda obvious from the mechanics of the game (which is fun btw), I was sort of alluding to what you could potentially turn the game towards. Lances rather than individual mechs, combined arms, all that fun stuff.

Perhaps you could put an insanely op drop on the first mission as a homage to Front Mission? That 40-40 rifle you got off the main antagonist was certainly worth the struggle of getting it, at least for a good third of the game at least.

I just put out release v0.2, which highlights the addition of 27 new mechs, more than double the amount in the first release! Also randomized starting drop decks should help keep things interesting. For more info check out the release page:
