The players do not get to dictate the rules a server admin chooses to put up on his server, and it is quite petulant to argue that they should.

No one ever said they should. In this case at least. The devs are the ones that want to dictate this specific rule.

Hopefully the server admins will find that the 10K transfer limit is a reasonable compromise.

People play on Huntress a lot so they obviously don't mind unlimited sharing. It's even possible they actually like it.

I hate unlimited sharing.  HATE HATE HATE.  The only reason I join huntress is because 99.99% of the time every other server has 0 population or is password locked for some kind of league match.

And since I'm connecting to the server solo, huntress is the only option.

Back when more of my friends were playing this game, we'd take a "join it and they will come" approach with empty servers, but that isn't an option for me anymore since most of my friends have abandoned this game because they unanimously agreed that AA assets were laughably ineffective at deterring aircraft.

Oh no, planes again...the old issue that stays an issue because its still an issue.  Combined arms is great and all, but the presence of aerospace (along with the extremely boring to use and questionably effective AA assets) has definitely cost this game players (its certainly why my friends quit...the announcement of MWO was the last nail in the coffin of me trying to convince them to give MWLL another shot).  Has it cost it more players than its kept?  I don't believe so....but we do usually only have 1-2 pub games at prime time....

But back on topic, huntress isn't popular because of cbill sharing....its popular because its the only server that isn't empty.

With 0.5.5 we are going to increase the c-bill transfer limit per player to 10,000/60 seconds with an eye towards hopefully having some of those popular servers use sanctioned limits.

The continuous abuse of League Mode cvars is something that I have taken notice of, and if they continue to be used in a fashion that detracts from the intended gameplay experience then we will revisit what is being made available under that mode.

Well, some servers continue to abuse it. Huntress has it back in place again for instance.

The post I quoted is what 'they' said ;). Or did you mean SJ? I think they did have it off briefly, but it's now back again.

Yeah, it was at least just now in the few games I had this morning on Huntress. So it's only an oversight :).
