fixing a monitor
« on: June 26, 2008, 06:48:30 AM »
Has any one here ever had an LCD die that they sent in for service? My 19" display died when the plug came undone while it was turned on. This is a stupid reason for a display to die and its the second time it has happened. The first was when I bought it new with my computer. I was testing it out on a laptop when my dog tripped over the cord. That monitor started showing random pixels. I told newegg they sent it DOA so they replaced it. This one is all back but the power light still comes on.

Rite now it  was acting as my second monitor and a basically NEED it to do 3D work on. I usually have my rollup bar, views and item select on it.

If I send it in for service will it end up costing me the price of a new one? Rite now it sells for about 200.

Might be your back light that's out. If you can go into some really specific detail about how and in what way it was damaged, and maybe the model of the LCD, I'll see what i can dig up.

Is the monitor working at all? if you look really close, do you see any image on it what so ever?
