Hi Wasp,

nice to see the progress on your system, looks great.  You've certainly got a brilliant environment, you could use it in a movie!!

Yeah I sorted the hinge thing out but the door itself split in half  :( I managed to rejoin it and add some extra strength which looked OK in the end.

I still need to fit the targeting console and some interior lighting. I was thinking about using black light so all the white lettering on the panel labels glow.

What game s/w are you running?

little advice on lighting ,, use led blue [NOT black light ] i own a 3D chromavision attraction . i lost a good amount of my eyesight from working under the blacklight , [only took 2months to do its dammage] just an FYI , as far as game systems go , i have on system 1 [quake, gitm IA ] [6 games loaded] system 2 is my online computer [only have dial up out here in the sticks] system 3 is an xbox std & 360 , system 4 is a greenscreen system . im going to try to keep this short [lol] i own a special effects company , the mech is in the fx shop , she is also one part of a bigger build ,that takes up the second floor of the shop [a  sci-fi break room for my crew] side note still playing mech3 love that game !!!

Nice safety tip, I had wondered whether there was any health risk with those. Thanks.  I'll stick with LEDs.

choowy i  went back and looked at your interior pics , love your overhead , if you want to add , cockpit temp and computer temp , pick up a sharp atomic clock [realy cheep ] , they give you an external temp sensor , strips down ez , helps monitor computer internal temp , plus you get a realy big cool looking clock.

i have a personal "mechpit" in the works....lots of wire soldering cause i cant get the virtual stick thingy to work but so far i have full throttle, break, JJ and boost at my feet along with full use of the joystick. i just need to finish my "console" for all the other buttons that are needed...so far i have less than $150 into it...i gutted an old logitech momo racing set that i had laying around and added several switches/buttons to the pedal assembly to give to desired commands..i'll take a few pics and post em soon when it's a little more presentable.

this is the ultimate power nerd thread. when mech3 came out i turned my closet into a cockpit. i used cardboard and cut out holes and made fake buttons with plastic and markered em up so that when i turned my lights on in there they'd all glow different colors- i was only like 13 at the time so it got the job done. when i have my own place i fully intend to build an eyefinity cockpit with all the working switches and levers. gonna take apart an old keyboard and wire it up so that they are in the conole and get an old joystick somewhere i can take apart and mount up on the armrest. then of course there's the throttle. some day it will happen- for now just eyefinity alone gets me by plenty well.

I R MAGIC SAN
