New in the forum...
« on: May 07, 2012, 05:02:33 PM »
I play the Mod for some months now, and today i decided to join the forum also. I started with mechwarrior 4. Half a year ago i decided to try mektek mechwarrior in sake of the "old" times. Singleplayer worked fine, multiplayer don't. And then i read about MWLL. It sounded good. I tried, i died. MW4 was a cakewalk in comparsion. But not so much fun. So i played again...and again....

Hello and welcome!

Glad to see you decided to stick with it. It's definitely got a mean learning curve, but is worth it for the most 'mech fun I've ever had. ;D

One of the greatest things about this MOD is that it is ever evolving, just when you get a grasp on things and have a understanding how it all works, it changes. Most of the time it's the addition of an asset that throws things into a state of shock for most players, sometimes it's a tweak to the game that upsets the way people have played it, but it's always evolving and loads of fun. Some people are just awesome at this mod, others just try hard to play the best they can, but for certain, this isn't MW4 in any way shape or form! I love this mod and plan on it being my number one game for a long time! Combined assets is the only way to play MW.

You should join Team Speak as often as you can, it's the number one way to learn this mod too. Glad you stuck around and you will like the future with everything that's in the pipeline you won't regret it!

Welcome welcome.  I find that the learning curve is addictive for the die hards of community.  Some folks don't give MWLL a chance cause they can't go to the mech lab and pick the same custom mech over and over.

Personally, with the cbill rank system, you're always "if I just did a bit better i can get to that next rank and try out XYZ asset" :D

Most of the Time i got only Mediums, Heavys only every couple of games. But if you get a better Asset than usual, you feel that you archived something.

Yes, the Mod is evolving, some assets and gameplaychanges toppled the balance of Power. The Fafnir and Blood Asp and the shorter LRM-Min-Range were big changes during the last months.
