Old NetMech/Kali/PPP/Zone/MPlayer People?

Long time no see BK   You're right about back in the days, hard to find the community we had back then.  What an awesome time it was.

Now, I wonder where the rest of the old AV Mecha/#ADL Kali crew went?...  I still have the chat log of the day Avenger lost it on there with all of us.

I'm still looking for Warlord Centrella to pop up here sometime... Him, Crono, Mercutio, ChrisMOG, Dogmeat, Siberwolf, Oracle(whoracle), DarkDemon, Hornet, Blade... the list goes on eh.

I remember Greeneyes...and the drama with our very own <WC>Shadowcat. Landros looking at this game makes me happy in the pants. =D, been playing them ghey MMORPGs...need to back to real gaming. Phelan...hows your direwolf doing? Still sitting back waiting for a Khan to Charge you so you can get off some free LRM strikes to my TW's legs til I get ahold of you with my uAC/20 =P. I just installed NetmechDOS from mech2.com and have been reconfiguring them. So much fun. You guys should try it. I've been on the IRC almost daily now. Reminds me of Kali. 

Man it is sooo good to see the old <WC> here. I think we are going to have a blast and I cannot wait.

Heya Blasty - yeah, too long.  I'm not sure where all of those people are now - its been a couple years since I've seen any of those names.  I had most of them on my ICQ list, but someone hacked into that and erased them all.  Had to start over, but I don't really use ICQ anymore - only more of a bragging right that I have a sub-1 million number     And yeah, I still have that very same chat log you mention - someone named it AVSpringer, pretty much what it was at the time.  Jerry Springer on Kali...  too funny

I could probably dig up some of those old names and find them somewhere.  I think I actually saw Siberwolf online somewhere on some site, but I can't recall atm.  Here's an old pic of ADL's former admin for kicks:

Hahaha, I named it that and had it on auto file host ever since that amazing day.  I think that server started out being named XvT Mechwarrior or something like that - AVenger liked Xwing versus Tie Fighter I imagine.

I love the screenshot of Joker, I miss my mplas, jj's and Valor.  Damn Mercenaries was such a great game, I can only hope this one will come close.

I still talk to Streak on ICQ/AIM, him and SpanQme actually.  The rest rarely show up online nowadays - heck, I almost met whoracle in real life up in NYC once but I just missed him.  SiberWolf would come to my lan parties all the time.   I wonder if he's still a nuke in the Navy.

Feb 2000 is when I disbanded my clan and stopped playing, cuz I joined the navy too. I wasn't a nuke though, next rung down I guess. I was a Cryptalogic Technician, or codebreaker for the layman. Most people in the navy who even knew about our rating called us spooks. Had alot of fun, got drunk in alot of different countries.

I was testing out the Netmech dos app a couple days ago... and I dont know how to configure the controls in game.  Plus I was getting some odd errors, like when I hosted... all my weapoons would just fire automatically.  When roomate hosted, it was fine.  Ole Dukes here was pretty bad hahah.... nothing ever changes.

LoL... too funny... I would not know what to tell you regarding the bug. However, Search their forums, they have lots of info.

You can customize the controls changing 'INPUT.MAP'. (It is located at C:\Program Files\NetmechDos\netmech if you installed it normally)

I saved the original file as 'INPUT.MAP2'. Then make a copy on your desktop and open it with notepad.

There you can find all the controls and you can edit them.

If you want to invert your Y Axis on your mouse, look for :

   - mouse       Up/Down

Change it to:

}
torso_tilt {
   + mouse       Up/Down

Save the file as a .TXT and Copy it back into the Netmech folder. Afterwards rename it to INPUT.MAP and your changes should work in game now.

There's an easier way to do it if you don't want to bother with cut/paste or editing the text file. You have to load up Mechwarrior 2 Mechlab (not Mercenaries) to change up the controls (hit ESC when at the allegiance menu), it's included with the download but the prerequisite is that you must own MW2 to use it. When you save your config, it will already be loaded into the netmech folder (that's where it runs from).

I miss all that too, and the openness of the game, the feeling that the fight could and did go anywhere on the maps.  I always felt too confined in MW3/4.

The openness for sure - we could walk for miles and miles and never run into a boundary.  Remember those evil Arrow IV boats who would jj backwards and you could never catch them?  Evil I say - but I miss it.

Perhaps we'll be lucky enough to see a Spy's City remake for MW: LL - damn that was a great map, it and Appetite for Destruction.  Predator Diorama I'd love to see also.

I almost forgot about fgay, StrikerZz, Serle and the rest of those guys.    Great time.  Heck, I even miss the sorta "rivalry" we had with AV vs. GC's server, well, that until Bloo pulled the plug and joined up with us.  Blue actually works here in my town now, but I've never got to see him.
