I would replace th CPU with a Q8200. That should be about the minimum CPU to feed both video cards. Basically it's the same CPU you have now but with two more cores on the die. Should be around $200 and it should let you run Crysis on Max (minus some AA) at 1680x1050 around 40fps.

*nods* Thanks, good to know. Will have to wait to do that though (or any other kind of upgrade), I don't have the cash for it right now. Not to mention that the Swedish price's for computer stuff is more expensive then the American price's.

I am currently running this configuration:

Intel Q6600 @ 3.0
Gigabyte GA-N650SLI-DS4
2 x EVGA 8800GTS 320 MB in SLI
2GB A-Data PC6400 DDR2 800
Coolmaster Centurion
Hiper R 580W Modular PSU
WD 160GB 7200.1 SATA HD
Samsung SH-203H SATA DVD
Window XP Pro 32bit. SP3

I built the rig a year ago and it plays Crysis on Medium to High on a 1280x1024 19 inch monitor at very playable frame rates. How do you think this system will fare with the increased content of the Mod?
With 9800GT 512MBs running at around $100 now and the HD4850 at about $120 I could easily upgrade both cards. I honestly have not seen much framerate difference with SLI enabled so maybe I should just go for one 9800GT 1GB card instead. Oh decisions......decisions. I also have another brand new complete computer except for Processor, MB and GPU that I am waiting to see how the new Intel and AMD processors shape up before I decide what to buy to complete it.

Bump - can we get this thread stickied?  As we get closer, being able to check system reqs is going to be on a lot of peoples' minds.

Go to srtest.com and select Crysis; it will test your system for the minimum requirements.  If you're a bar or two above the minimum in all catagories, you're good to run the mod on low settings.

You should be fine depending on what resolution you run at.  The 2GB of RAM shouldn't be a problem but you might experience memory buffers while playing (again depends on your settings and such) since this mod uses more memory than crysis as the maps are in-general much larger.  However your dual video cards might save you there.

I sincerely hope so! When I get my hdd for xmass, I will try to get my hands on some more memory! (btw, I want 1920, but it's probably gonna be 1680)

My system was theoretically below the minimum requirements for Warhead but it seemed to run it OK at least to some extent. ;D The real issue was probably the system memory anyway, not the video card.

Nonetheless, something tells me MW:LL would be pushing it. By the time the Warhead mod SDK is even available I'll probably be able to upgrade anyway...

Well, Warhead was not as demanding as Crysis though.

It keeps on being said that MW:LL needs more memory, but is that system RAM or Graphic card Memory??

Can we clarify this plz

Neither will do harm, both are equally helpful. System RAM might have slight priority though.

This is a good point because it's inevitable that we will port the mod over to warhead eventually.  I've heard both that Warhead increases performance drastically and also that it did nothing to performance.  Atleast one of the biggie things they said they optimized were explosions and particle effects, which is always good seeing as nobody likes it when the game runs slow due to alot of fire going off.
