There we got our league players already! :D Now all we need is an actual league supporting it :P

Obvious candiates for Leagues would be MechWarrior League and NBT, but we would sign on anywhere that supports it

I can't say how good I'll be at piloting a 'mech without a joystick, considering I wasn't ever that great with a joystick, but I'd like to see a league going for this - they generate a lot of popularity and contribute to the lifespan of a mod.  If I prove to be decent after a lot of practice, I might even consider trying to get in on some of the action, ahahaha.

IIRC, JS support is built into MWLL.

And the software to build a league site is quite complex. Forurms are easy - many pre-made packages out there. The league software is a different story. Take a look at MWL. You would have to join as a member, but it's worth looking at. The ladders and various forms of league play (PL, TB, Solaris, Racing, CTF, McRug, etc, etc) coupled with the unit rosters, battle control/challenges, etc make this a very non-trivial matter.

MWL had the great fortune of having a wonderful coder build it from scratch (Neuromancer, now passed away, RIP). Gladius and others have full control of the site now, but it is still a big task to maintain.

Now, adding a MWLL ladder would be pretty straightforward.  :)

I know a few programmers who may be up to the task.  Let me ask around and see what if I can generate enough interest in my own core group to develop a league and then maybe I can look at "hiring" outside individuals as well.

It's something I'd definately like to see and if someone out there has a bigger jump on it than me i'd be happy to help their efforts instead of creating my own.

Would be great to have it done before the release so we can start with leagues right away :P Get a basic setup done that you can modify according to the needs of people playing the game. So far we wouldn't know what a league needs since there is no real game content for us to look at yet.

In many ways I'm with WolfsBane, been waiting to sit in a 'mech for so long the thousand yard stare kicks in.  It DOES feel unreal after almost a decade of neglect to see our beloved BT rise like a phoenix, and so much more promise than ever before.
