Try 14kb/s as standard and a maximum of 56kb/s. Or better, try waiting for hours to get a confirmed ping, only to have to dial it all again due to faulty connection, and hey, no phone in the meantime! ;)

80 kB/s is 640 kbps, more if there's extra overhead to count. It's not blazing fast, but it's not really horribly slow either. Some servers will only give you about that...

Anyway, doing the math:
2 GB = 2048 MB = 2097152 kB
/ 80 = 26,000 seconds
= 7 hours

...the result is: you'll live. Leave it on overnight or something. The only thing that'll catch you is if you have a low monthly data cap or something.

That's fairly well up there in world standards. You'd probably have to move to Korea or Japan to have a good chance of beating it.

7 hours. Really slow for broadband, beyond the capability of 56k.

10Mbit isnt that super fast. Well within the range of normal cable, and rather slow for VZ fiber.
