why does it look as if the missles are gonna miss?
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

Looks pretty.

Here's hoping for some video footage behind doors 5, 10, and 15 ;)  Personally I'm dying to see video of other vehicles in action jsut to see how they interact.

What makes you think they will?
probably the fact, that they aren't even close to going in the same direction as the beams down below *g*
it's this stupid indirect fire thing that i allways hate with big fixed rocket packs . . ever seen SRM arch up like that?
probably no, because they follow a straight line from fire to boom . . LRM look especially stupid with mechs like the atlas where the whole torso would have to tilt back to get the arched fire instead of the LRM's just going like SRM's . .
it was really bad with the MadCat MK2 in MW4 . . the LRM Pods were attached so they were ALLWAYS tilted back/up . . and then the MK2 shoots at a light mech not even 50m in front of the MK2 . .

If he was locked, it hit. It if wasn't, he probably didn't.
It arched because he was locked on.

Hmmm...that begs a possibly obvious question.  Can one snap fire missiles and still inflict damage if the missiles happen to hit a target?

Yes.
If you're not locked you can dumbfire.

i just think they should not arch all of the time when lockes on . . why should they arch if the target is only meters away, directly in front? it just looks dumb to me <.< . .

Because they go a certain distance before they're really useful, which is why they arch.
It defeats the purpose of SRM's if you can just spam LRM's into someone's face, point-blank.

That's what Dumbfire is for, whereas, they don't arch.

This is still in the air, but this is how it is at the moment.

I have a question you guys are trying to recreate the effects as well? Such as for the lasers etc.. looks great! And another issue I have is that the laser doesnt light up the ground why havent you guys made that? Also if needed i can create some particle effects for you

I agree ... I hated the LRMs behaviour in MW games before. Being able to lock on to a target and fire 2x20 LRM into their face wasn't fun at all considering they are a long range weapon. And while reading through the novels I read a couple of time that the warheads in the rockets need a bit before coming active (aka. fly a few hundred meters before being of any use).

I like the arching idea more than what we had before :) Let's see how it performs in-game once we get our hands on it! Then we can start bitching about it ... or enjoy it, who knows.
