Isn't the shadowcat supposed to have a gauss?
The model almost looks like a bushwacker, but that's not a laser boat either.

Is it getting shot? Beam divergence looks weird if its firing, as the lasers should be converging on one point.
Whats the explosion from? Nothing is hitting it in the rear.

Yes, these are pulse respectively beam lasers and yes, it is a Bushwacker.
In my juvenile enthusiasm, I had overlooked that this beauty came from one of two IS hangars, not CL hangars. I apologize.

Now, how about a real shadowcat and its gauss firing? Or a PPC perhaps?

I think each arm actually has 2 medium lasers or something, they are just firing so close to each other that they look like one coming out of the barrel.  Then they seperate more because if the effect.  I dont know what variant it is
