I have already cast my vote for MWLL.  I'd vote everyday for this mod everyday if it was possible.

Generally, I'm against voting blindly for anything, and since nobody knows who all the competitors are there's no way to tell if this mod is really our favorite of the bunch or not... but in this case I have a hard time believing that there is going to be something which I am more excited to play than a new Mechwarrior, on the Crysis engine, no less. Therefore, mine was a vote for this mod.

Keep in mind that in the upcoming category, all of the mods will be in the same boat as us - relying on screenshots and videos for press.

I think it's a fair bet that the most popular mod will be the one that gathers the most attention. People hear about something that appeals to them and they follow that mod. I think it would be quite rare to find someone who votes for more than one mod in the nominations.

I must say, the Moddb site is just chock full of fail when it comes to contest management.  The "big annual contest" has NO propagation on the front page other than a little icon in the "popular groups" listing, just above the 2007 awards, so the average "what new mods are out" visitor has little chance of even noticing it.  The countdown timer on the Phase 2 site currently says 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds... so I guess it's frozen in time, and should have been a completely automated process unless the site admins plan to "validate" (read: rig) the nominations...  or maybe I'm just being extra cranky this morning.

I don't know, i am almost equally excited about the "The Third Age: total war" MOD... probably the other series of games i am passionate about is Total war.  I hope it is oneyou that takes first.
