My gratitude
« on: January 02, 2009, 04:45:38 AM »
It has been an amazing process watching the work coming from you guys. I personally have followed this project since the begining, and all I can say is you guys have my full attention and support. I think it isn't said enough but I appreciate ALL your time and energy you guys put in this mod, I believe people do not realize what kind of epic scale something like this project takes out of people's lives. And you guys do this for 'US' the community, which I am sure I speak for all, we are so thankful someone took the step forward and grabbed the challenge by the horns.

Every night I look forward, like a giddy school girl too see what is released. Whether it be a picture, movie or sound track, it makes the wait for this mod that much more deeply enriched. What you are creating is something of a day dream many of us and yourselves have dreamed about, a battletech/mechwarrior game that lives up to the lore and history of the universe.

I believe what you guys are developing will bring in so much attention that it will create a new hope that this community needs, a spark which hasn't been around for years since the take over of the series.

I do not post every day, though I do on another forum: http://www.overclock.net/video-game-news/403705-mwll-mechwarrior-crysis-mod-update.html We have an open thread with you'lls daily updates and information. We are trying to spread the word over there, and have many interested who had no idea about the mod until now.

Again thanks again and I hope you guys realize how much we do appriciate your level of detail, hard work, and total dedication. I'm glad most of you guys have the foresight to look past all the negativities that are around, and have focused on the positives! Until next time...

PJK.

I'm pretty much the same way.. I really have not been this excited about an up and coming game.

Hey was you in WX or WiE?

WiE, though I did have contact with the WX once in awhile.

I only felt giddy like this with the old mw2 games to be honest, yeah mw3 was fun, but it just didn't feel the same... not to mention what mw4 was.

Haha, I wasn't a founder of it, but ended up staying around long enough to help lead it later on. We will have to start WiE/WX soon enough, let me know so we can start getting things in order!!

I was in a wolf in exile clan in MW3

I was WX_Deity..

I still remember Darkhand, Hawker, Guardien, wow good times back then. I sooo hope something happens with mechwarrior again. I'm so pissed at Microsoft for just sitting on the franchise.

Dude, I remember you!  Well I remember the name.. it was so long ago I honestly wouldn't remember many people.

You remember Bailey17 and Bailey71?
I for sure remember Darkhand, Hawker and Guardian(sp?).

Was pure fun back then.  99% of it was made possible because of Hawker and Darkhand.

Just chiming in with more of the same, basically.  I've been missing Mech games for the PC so bad I'd pretty much given up all hope.  Apparently I wasn't alone.  Thankfully there are some talented dev-type folks in the same quandry, because it has led to a mod that I'm looking forward to more than any other PC game since NWN 2 and MC 2 (which disappointed me badly).

The real bonus is that this game looks every bit as good as anything you'd pay fifty bucks for off the shelf.  It lacks the single player option of course, but I am willing to bet serious cash that this isn't really going to slow down adoption of the mod by any BT for the PC fan.  In another thread the question was posed regarding purchasing Crysis just for this mod.  I intend to, and just for this mod.  I'll probably play Crysis, true, but I wasn't planning on buying it until I found MWLL.

To the devs, your efforts are appreciated.  Your game is eagerly anticipated.  Your place in the history of the BT universe is assured if you can pull this thing off.  Accolades shall most certainly ensue when this thing hits the net, hopefully with the force of a thermonuke (or one of Uncle Gary's chili farts).

It's easy to see just how challenging the project is, and I only wish I knew more about game dev so I could help.  But lacking that, you certainly have my personal gratitude, and a generous donation when such an option is available.  I (and many others I'm sure) thank you for doing everything anyone could hope for to fill a void that has existed far too long.  Hopefully when SOMEONE decides to actually make a commercial BT4PC game, your outstanding work will place you at the top of the list for staffing...unless you're sick and tired of seeing Battlemechs in your sleep. ;)

Thanks guys.

I just want to tell you guys how thankful i am for making this mod. I started off maybe 10 years ago with reading the books. then i got into MW3 and MW3 PM. after the strange little game that was MW4 (which i still played cause ya know its still MW) i pretty much gave up hope on any good mech game. I bought Crysis because it was the "hot game" played through SP once and haven't touched it in months. Until now. you guys have gave me knew hope for a mech game. And you guys also made it so i didn't completely waste the $50 i spent on Crysis :)
So thank you.

I feel that since the others are posting there gratitude, i should do the same. While i am sure i am one of the youngest members of this forum, i still have to say i have enjoyed battletech for almost my entire life. While it is true that when i was younger i did not fully understand the books i read or the games themselves, i have reread the books many times over, and replayed the games too. it was astonishing to me to see just how in-depth this battletech universe was, and my experience with it was the best i have ever had with a genre. I never got to be a part of the global online multiplyer community until 2-3 years ago, so i missed out on the clan battles and the excitement that made those games the games they were. i have dipped into CBT from time to time, and other battletech sources. i guess its funny how i became such a huge fan of this fiction when it was lying in its grave.
One day in computer class, since i obviously wasn't paying attention because i knew the material, i stumbled upon some 3d renderings of battlemechs that made me wet myself. i followed the link and lo and behold...this is where it led me. i have followed this site for quite some time and i feel very pleased to say that i am eternally grateful to you for pursuing this mod. I have seen far to many good ideas die. This mod, knock on wood, should bring back the awesomeness that was mechwarrior, the part that i didn't get to enjoy sadly, and you have my thanks. Keep up the good work guys!  8)

Basically you guys ROCK Hardcore!  I feel the same way most of the mech heads in here.  I truly appreciated what you have brought to the community and from the way its coming along it looks like this will be best mechwarrior game. I come here multiple times a day waiting patiently for it to come out. Its been years since the last release and hopefully this mod will rekindle that old feeling again which Im sure it will.

Yea I agree with you 100%  I come on here all the time just to check the progress.  Mechwarrior 3 was the game that got me into online gaming and since then the mechwarrior series has been my favorite games (now followed closely by crysis).  This mod is like a godsend to me and the rest of the battletech/mechwarrior community.
Great work guys
