(poll) which mechwarrior do you prefer?

i know theres more mech games out there but this is based around the mechwarriors.
from what ive played recently i find that mechwarrior 3 is much more like a simulator and mechwarrior 4 is more... arcade like,so i have to say i like 3 the best out of what ive played. (although i cant run it for more than ten minutes on XP without it crashing)

I can't believe the all time classic Mechwarrior 2 was third place. You guys really, REALLY need to get out more and play this awesome game, find the xp patch, etc, PLAY IT!!! :-D

Mech2 was so playable and fun. The mechs were very manueverable in the air (where a good pilot spent most of his combat time.)

well i have an unseen collection of mechwarrior games somewhere, i just have to find them. they used to be my dads but he isnt very into mechs nowadays. theyre probably in that hellhole of boxes we call a closet. man itll be hard to find though... theres at least 300 old PC games in there

mech 2 for the functional thrusters and honest weapon options. Plus total omnimech freedom for domination. All I need is a maddog , acouple of large lasers, and some lrm's.

Plus between that and need for speed 3 hot persuit that accounts for most of middle school

I always found MW3 and MW3 Pirates Moon the best, nuthin' like completely stripping a mech down and making something entirely different in the mechbay!  I did like certain elements of MW2 as well (like infrared sensors, now THAT was cool!).  Man, you guys have now got me itchin' to play them all again, now I just have to wait for the video card to come....*sigh*

I loved the simulation feel of MW3.  MW4 was way too arcadey.  MW2 was awesome as well (and with Mercs had a hell of a mech selection), but it just didn't feel right because of how underpowered the Gauss rifles felt, the travel times for EVERYTHING, jump jets were way more useful than intended, and the uber-dominance that was the medium pulse laser (although in all fairness MW3 had this problem with the 13 small laser Bushwackers).

If someone made MW2 but with the controls of MW3 I would be all over that.

My favorite game of the series was mechwarrior 2 mercenaries, but I voted for mechwarrior 3. I can't wait for AT1:BT to come out, since it's basically trying to combine the best parts of these games and it's free.

I loved everything about MW3.  Even the lag.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it died.
