All settings on very high
Motion blur off
vsync on
2x AA

FPS= 20

I want to know what your system is and on which settings you can play Crysis in a decent way.

Phenom 9950 OC'd @ 3GHz
4 (2x2)Gb OCZ Platinum Ram 1066
Gigabyte 4850 512Mb
Gigabyte 790X MB
1680x1050
All settings high
Vsync on
AA off
Running an average of 35 fps (according to the Crysis tool) but I am going to verify that with Fraps since it will be in-game play and not simulated.

I plan on upgrading the MB and adding a 2nd 4850 before MWLL hits final release though.  And if I am really lucky I can get my i7 Core build done sometime before the end of the year (pending AM3 comparisons).

I sincerely hope you'll get yours! I am happy with my E8400 for now though, still haven't encountered a single game that wouldn't run on high...

only 1 GB of RAM, definately upgrade that first!

This site should help tell you how your system relates to running Crysis (can't remember who posted it before)

I would seriously consider buying a whole new computer. I built mine (posted above) for $1500 as a point of reference. You could probably build a computer for $800 or so, salvaging parts from your old system and be able to run it with a good mixture of High/Very High and still have room to grow and play new games 2 years from now.

It's in the works.  I am just waiting for Intel to throw out their Octocore processors and the Quads drop in price a bit (as well as a stronger after market cooling support for the i7).
The AM3 from AMD just means they support DDR3 ram and based on Tom's Hardware review of the Phenom II vs the i7 920 the i7 is still the way to go when you consider OC potential as well as the 920 being the "entry" level chip compared to AMD's latest flagship.  Add the fact that the i7 MB's support both Crossfire and SLI (and I plan on having 2x4850) and you have major upgrade potential for some time into the future.

I will do a Fraps run on Crysis on my current build and post up the results this weekend for the different settings (All settings: low, medium, high, etc) to give a baseline for any interested parties.

I did this not to long ago when comparing XP x64 vs Vista Ultimate x64 for AIX 2.0 BF2 as was surprised to find that Vista out performed XP if only by a little bit in frame rates.  Of course I did some tweaks to both OS's to enhance performance and they were both done on fresh installs but the hardware was completely the same.  I am interested to see how Windows 7 does in comparison but I don't do Beta's as any Windows is buggy enough to begin with...   ::)

I'm getting another 10-30FPS on my rig in Windows 7 over Vista. Not sure why. It has it's flaws since it's a beta but I also haven't had too much reason to go back to Vista just yet.

If anyone does install it, make sure it's on a separate partition because I've had problems installing things (the actual installer package crashes) but I can still run the programs if they're already installed.

I currently run on High with my res set at 1024x768 instead of the native 1680x1050 and I get 30-35 fps avg.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Dual Core Processor AM2 2.9GHZ 1MB 89W
Mother Board ASUS M2A-VM
XFX GeForce 9800GTX+ 738MHZ 512MB 2.2GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card
G.SKILL F2-6400CL4D-4GBPK PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory (x2 making for 8 gbs of memory)
ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Channel PCI-E Sound Card 24BIT Dolby Digital 116DB
OCZ StealthXStream 600W ATX12V 20/24PIN Active PFC ATX Power Supply 120MM Fan

Running XP 64 and it has been rock solid :).
