Joystick support
« on: February 08, 2009, 05:31:15 AM »
Prob already been asked somewhere but I didn't see it.  Crysis (to the best of my knowledge) DOES NOT have joystick support, but only keyboard/mouse and gamepad.

Please say u guys are incorporating joystick support?  or can you code joystick support?  I would hate to try and play MWLL with only a keyboard and mouse....take my enjoyment out of the game.  I like the feel of the joystick.

I don't think I could play a Mech Game without a joystick.  It's just more "Sim" like.

I have a saitek x52, will that work? besides, isn't a mouse/keyboard-combination more precise?

Thanks guys, that makes me breath easier. However, I'm still using the "old" but good, Sidewinder 3d Pro.  Will an analog joystick, ie, thru the gameport work?  or will it be restricted to USB?

I just had to fire up Crysis last night and play thru the game...being a hardcore MW fan and playing online for over 10 years in leagues, I really wasn't all that impressed with MWLL when news of the project came trickling out. I mean, how u gonna make a "first person shooter" into a mech game where u feel like u are piloting a "battlemech", and using these machines and having a "simulation" feel to them.

However, as more and more news and pics, along with videos surfaced....it's looking pretty promising.  After playing Crysis last night again, the visuals, terrain and effects are quite good, picturing this in a mech game, is getting more and more exciting.

So, finally came on board and joined the board here.  :)

I will be a much happier (and excited camper) if my joystick will work.

I imagine it should because the Gameport still interfaces with DirectInput. Can't guarantee it as I haven't tried mine yet..

Speaking of the Sidewinder, I've got two I had to buy off Ebay cause the newer ones just don't replicate that feel of the Sidewinder Pro Force Feedback..

When I need support for my joystick I buy a new jock. Sometimes just a new strap.

I have one of these spliced to a USB input and I fully intend to use Joy2Key with it and MWLL.

Works great with MW3 and 4!
