The Oblivion Curve was mostly fixed with mods such as Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul, Francesco's Oblivion Overhaul, and Martigens Monster Mod, all three are MUST HAVE mods if you played Oblivion on PC (you can't run Francesco and Oscuro's at the same time though for oblivious reasons).

Yah the only way to really counter the oblivion-curve is to get enchanted stuff in the game. I am lvl 32 in it and have Madness/Daedric(however the hell its spelled) armor (all enchanted for combat use), and I can usually kill most enemies easily. (My stuff gives me about 72 armor and 52% damge reflection, which really helps alot.) I can kill guard by looking at them while the try to beat me to death lol! Of course there other ways to counter it to, like lvl up secondary abilities instead of your primary so enemies don't lvl as fast as you do.

Actually Redwulf I liked the Oblivion Curve, but my one thing I found dodgy about it was at high Levels the NPC's stood no chance against the higher level Daedra (from Spiders up the humans/orcs/elves etc stood no real chance even if they were level 20 themselves, they did'nt heal fast enough or retreat etc).  But IMHO you at looking at leveling in Oblivion the wrong way around, try this.

Build a Character who your going to have REAL difficulty leveling for your preferred role (If your a warrior stick magic skills, alchemy and sneak skills as the majors and have armour and weapons, acrobatics, whatever is useful to you as Minor skills).  If its almost impossible to level your character then you've got the build I like most :)

You will end up a level 9-12 character max, yes thats right, it will become impossible to level.  I had a Breton male mage, with Blade, Blunt, Sneak, Security, Mercantile and Athletics etc as major skills ;)  I stopped playing at around level 9, but was almost master level in Destruction, Conjuration, Alteration, Restoration, Alchemy etc.  100 points in all my major attributes (+5 on Int, Will and Strength/Constitution each level), oh and Oblivion Crisis finished and Master of Mages Guild etc.  Was casting Area of Effect spells by then that were clearing out all baddies in one room in one hit :)  Thats when I could be bothered de-chameleoning to fight some-one (run chameleon at over 100% and nothing will detect you, even with you poking them with a dagger they'll just run around in panic, so you can explore in peace).

I only did this because on the first run through the game I ended as a level 30 something fighter, and found that none of the NPCs lasted long enough in the main quests so started to look at ways of keeping them alive.   The sword play could have been better too IMHO, but it was fun.

All I can say is that it works well as you see Goblins other than Witches and Warlords, you still see will-o-the-wisps and other medium level creatures, and people are still wearing plate steel and chainmail etc (rather than everyone in glass and daedric) so it looks better too.

if you want a rgood roll playing game get Elder scrolls 4, oblivion

If you want a much, much, much better rpg get elder scrolls 3 morrowind.
As much as I love the ES series I have to say I prefer The Witcher over both of those.

I prefer the Witcher over ES and have been also been giving Fallout 3 a good run.

Fallout 3 has it's decent share of bugs and things to pick on but I have so much fun playing it I don't notice them. :)

Want to get back into some online play though so hoping I don't have to wait too long to jump into a Battlemech again.

Oh yeah, forgot the Witcher.  Seriously enjoyed that one.  Excellent storyline and voice acting.  Bit sad not to see the more traditional critters in it, but at least it had some nice digital pr0n going on.  Well, the version I got did.  The US release had them all censored out from what I understand.  Gawd, the main character was a serious whore tho.  Women in that world are obviously A-OK with sharing.  It's a good thing he's immune to disease!
