February 16th sees the opening of door #78 in MWLL's advent calendar. Today's screenshot contributes to the understanding of dimensions in the mod, as it sees a Blood Asp engaged in long range combat with an enemy. Enjoy!

Yes  ;D

Unfortunately, I can't be more specific, as I'm not sure to which extent we're releasing weapon details at this time as all of this is, basically, still subject to change and we're not overly happy with how people keep pointing at outdated info like the weapon loadouts in our "TRO", so we'd prefer not having to play the same game with the weapon details.

Just rest assured that the max weapon range will be quite a lot.

Looks like a lot of fun!

Um...one thing...in the screenshot that Asp looks to have been retouched in photoshop.  I'd say someone used the burn tool, then tried to erase the overflow with an eraser or smudge tool.  :-\  I hope I'm wrong...that would be a little discouraging this late in the game.

Hehe, well that was expected.

How do you explain it?  There is clearly some non-uniform 2D darkening around the mech below the horizon, and along the right leg there are clearly 2 tracks of a brush that is removing the darkening.  Like I said, burn, then erase or smudge.  Throw ROFL's all ya like, that's what it looks like.

Er no.  If we wanted to spend time doctoring up a photo and then end up just doing a bad job of it we might as well just throw up a rushed video every day.

That effect is a post processing effect called SSAO (aka Ambient Occlusion).  It looks better in motion and when coupled with a tweaked setting.  Also it looks the way it does due to the fact that the image is compressed.

There's shading radiating away from the mech.  In your photos it is darkening other surfaces, not the empty space around objects.

Ah, oh well.  Guess it just looks wierd.  Maybe it just looks wierd to me.

;D  Thanks 'Jax.
