@Punisher1
We've been down that road, check out the "Poor Bloody Infantry" thread, that'll show you where things stand as to AI infantry etc and the problems it would create in MW:LL

I confused by that comment, I know that this game will not have infantry and thats not a problem. Battle Armor seems fun enough.

However I will point out a few good things about Infantry.
The infantry soldier will be around for all times, as long as man is present in the universe there will be infantry (and if man is not present allien infantry will be around). The reason for this is that that you have to hold ground and clean out all the places a mech, tank, aircraft and or ship (space ship) could not go.  ;D

Interesting you'd say that, there is a book that kind of deals with that point, "Old Man's War" by John Scalzi, very good read imho, check it out if you're interested in SciFi-War stories (but not like BT, no mech stomping around^^)

If your Atlas is equipped only with weapons that suck at elemental killing, bring a teammate or pay the price, easy as that :P

The Atlas has a variety of weapons, however you can't count on a team mate always. I wish it were another way, but in reality we've all played online, and been horrified as your team mates aren't around, or not paying attention to you, etc. Not to mention now it requires them to recognize your need, and then attempt to pick off a very small target.

(also i am really anticipating the moment when some one team kills their mech in attempt to wipe off an elemental attached to a cockpit).

Maybe i've just been playing way too much armored core, but i get nightmares of a BA quickboosting around and grappling in seconds.

There is no conventional infantry, just BA atleast for the forseeable future. (sadly)

Its not a clas system you start as a BA, and can jump into any type of vehicle, if you eject you become battle armor again then you have jumpjets to get back to a base, or to continue fighting!

Turrets have always been automatic in Mech pc games, I see no reason this will change... Crysis has auto turrets so should be easy to implelment.

Hehe sadly indeed! I want to be an Adv.Anti Mech infantry with inferno missiles! OR A SYLPH! Oh my god! Sylph! Best battle armor EVER, a freakin Elemental basically that FLIES Always! Well they can walk but its stupid to, but can always fly and drop freakin bombs onto the enemy mechs heads! Rare model to get as they made few of them.. I got some ;)

And yet, Elementals have jet packs.

Also, my question regarding the strength of the Elementals, has more to do with how hard they are to kill as a Mech Pilot. It's going to be very annoying never being able to get any confirmed kills, because everyone flys away to safety when their vehicle dies.

I want to be sure that you'll have at least a decent chance to finish the kill after you take out their mech/tank.

Well as the devs have said before, you get C-bills for damaging enemies, taking off 'Mech limbs, and obviously killing vehicles and mechs so in a sense, correct me if im wrong, confirmed kills dont really matter because you will be getting paid for killing their machine. If you kill an Atlas then the BA runs off i doubt you will be all "man i just earned (insert massive C-Bill number here) but the little guy got away! This was just a total failure!  >:( :'("

imagine playing battlefield 2142, but all the vehicles had weapons that were 1 shot kills in splash alone, with 3 or 4x the fire rate in some cases, , and the vehicles themselves had about 5 times more health, usually moved to 2 or 3 times faster, there's about 2x as many vehicles running around, and the evironments are more wide open.  Also the nearest friendly infantryman is probably on the other side of the map waiting for a vehicle to be spawned, because being on foot is a death sentence.  oh yeah and nukes are constantly going off.

Because thats what playing mwll would be like if you had to play as a PBI, instead of a dude in power armor.

Wherever mechs are needed, I am there
