In MW4, gauss rifle shots were just as fast as PPC's. That means faster than autocannons but slower than lasers which hit in an instant. They moved fast but you still had to lead your shots at long range.

ER Large lasers dominated MW4: Vengeance. Hitting instantly at long range for high damage, they were often the only weapon type mounted on a mech.

Yes they didnt dominate MW4 Vengeance but they didnt dominate MW4 mercs because they did the same damage and WAY more heat
and weighed 4 tons instead of 5 tons but the amount you use in heat sink for ER large's made up for the extra weight of Large lasers. The only bad thing is that ER larges shot 800 M and large lasers shot 650 M. that the only thing ER large lasers had over large lasers.

I do notice a huge amount of heat in MW4 mercs with lasers and PPCs, far more than the canon rules would call for.  The weight and damage on them are good, but YEESH so they heat up quick, and forget about a damned X-pulse or ER pulse!

Also, is it me, or do MGs cause heat in Mercs?  I loaded a mech with them for shits and giggles, and damned if it didn't warm up QUICKLY when I was firing the buggers.

Nothing in mech4 mercs was proportionate to the rules.

How i play this is it just for making it or playing and making it

MW4's heat system is flawed. Weapons tend to shoot faster than the standard length of a Battletech turn which is 10 seconds. Meaning a large laser in Mercs can put out twice as much heat over what is written in the rules. Of course, the heat dissipation isn't quite up to spec. That's a problem, because it turns some mech's stock variants highly unusable. Like the Vulture for example.

Also, is it me, or do MGs cause heat in Mercs?  I loaded a mech with them for shits and giggles, and damned if it didn't warm up QUICKLY when I was firing the buggers.
I'm not sure about this one. I don't think they produce heat but I just can't tell you exactly.

the one thing that's really poorly done in CBT is weapon reaload time.
if they had different reaload times, it would be one step closer to really immersive simulation.
Well, you have to understand, that CBT is mainly a turn-based boardgame. There really isn't a reason for differenced reload times in that environment, so it isn't a flaw. And I do have trouble picturing how that could be implemented.

MG's and pulsers and light AC's shoot every round, PPC's and larger lasers every two rounds, missles and heavy AC'S shoot every 3 rounds.
'any kind of discussion of randomness ALWAYS WILL EQUATE to being able to critically hit a mech's reactor by firing a micro beam laser while facing 80 degrees to the side, shooting the ground, which would cause a random explosion which would randomly crit his entire team's reactors which would randomly cause the server itself to explode which would randomly generate a strange quark which would randomly hit the earth and randomly randomness randomfapp the shit fapp random!'

What are you talking about? That isn't the classic Battletech board game at all!

i know, i wonder why O.o
fluff allways talks about how certain weapons are slower to reload for example.
