It's not the tools he used or how he used the tools but the final composition that matters to me.

"That drummer sucks. That vocalist sucks. That guy has no skill. It's too repetitive. It's not complex enough."
Seriously, he bitched out PowerGlove because he said the drummer sucked, but that's probably just because he's a drummer.
I'm like dude, just like any art, it's the final product that matters. Look at modern and abstract art for example. Squares, Colors, Sqiggles and shit. It's about what the individual feels when looking or hearing something whether bad or good. It's why some game with bad graphics can be more entertaining than the most beautiful game can be.
He didn't quite understand the concept so I just smiled my head and nodded.
